Kay Armen
Armenuhi Manoogian ( hy, Արմենուհի Մանուկեան); November 2, 1915 – October 3, 2011), better known by her stage name Kay Armen, was an American Armenian singer popular during the 1940s and 1950s. Her career in show business spanned almost six decades, as she worked in radio, television, onstage and in film. She wrote multiple songs, performed in nightclubs and recorded many records. Radio Armen was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her father, Robert Manoogian, Sr., was a professional wrestler billed as "Bob Monograph". She first appeared on radio at WSM in Nashville, Tennessee, performing on 12 programs per week.DeLong, Thomas A. (1996). Hit The Deck (musical)
''Hit the Deck'' is a musical with music by Vincent Youmans, lyrics by Clifford Grey and Leo Robin and book by Herbert Fields. It was based on the 1922 play ''Shore Leave'' by Hubert Osborne. The title refers to a nautical slang term that means to prepare for action (general) or to drop to a prone position on the ground (as a defensive response to hostile fire). The original production was staged at the Belasco Theatre on Broadway, opening on April 25, 1927, and running for 352 performances. Charles King played Bilge and Louise Groody played Loulou. The show's co-producers were Youmans and Lew Fields, and Lew Fields co-directed with Alexander Leftwich. The production ran for 352 performances. The first London production opened at the Hippodrome on July 3, 1927 and ran for 277 performances. It starred Stanley Holloway. Bobby Managoff
Robert Manoogian Jr. (January 4, 1918 – April 3, 2002) was an American professional wrestler of Armenian descent who was best known for his work with National Wrestling Alliance in the 1940s as Bobby Managoff. Professional wrestling career Managoff was trained by his father Robert Manoogian Sr., a professional wrestler billed as "Bob Monograph", who had a match with Frank Gotch in 1916 where Gotch's leg was broken. Bobby started wrestling in 1936 at the age of 18. He started his career in what is now National Wrestling Alliance. He won the Texas Heavyweight Championship in February 1942. On February 17, he lost the title to Juan Humberto in Dallas, Texas. In June 1942, he signed with National Wrestling Association, a subsidiary of National Boxing Association which was to sanction professional wrestling.
