High Sierra Trail
The High Sierra Trail (HST) is a hiking trail in Sequoia National Park, California. The trail crosses the Sierra Nevada from west to east. According to the Yosemite Decimal System, the HST is a Class 1/Class 2 trail, which means simple scrambling, with the possibility of occasional use of the hands for balance. Route From the plateau of the Giant Forest at Crescent Meadow (elevation ) the trail travels high on the northern wall of the canyon of the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River to Bearpaw Meadow. Mount Stewart (California)
Mount Stewart is on the Great Western Divide, a sub-range of the Sierra Nevada in California. It is located in Sequoia National Park, southeast of Triple Divide Peak and northwest of Black Kaweah. The High Sierra Trail traverses Kaweah Gap south of the summit, and Lilliput Glacier is on the mountain's northern flank. The mountain is named for George W. Stewart, editor of ''Visalia Delta''. Eagle Scout Peak
Eagle Scout Peak is a mountain on the Great Western Divide of the southern Sierra Nevada. The mountain is located in the backcountry of Sequoia National Park. The mountain sits immediately to the south of Kaweah Gap along the main crest of the Great Western Divide. The east face of Eagle Scout Peak is relatively gentle and offers the easiest routes to the summit. The north face drops to Precipice Lake in a series of sheer cliffs. This scene was the backdrop for the Ansel Adams photo "Frozen Lake and Cliffs". On July 15, 1926 Francis Farquhar and three Eagle Scouts (Frederick Armstrong, Eugene Howell, and Coe Swift) made the first recorded ascent of Eagle Scout Peak, hence its name.
