The Kavasila–Kyllini railway ( el, Σιδηροδρομική Γραμμή Καβασίλων - Κυλλήνης) was a meter gauge railway line of the Piraeus, Athens and Peloponnese Railways (SPAP) in Elis, Greece. Metre-gauge railways are narrow-gauge railways with track gauge of or 1 metre. The metre gauge is used in around of tracks around the world. It was used by European colonial powers, such as the French, British and German Empires. Elis or Ilia ( el, Ηλεία, ''Ileia'') is a historic region in the western part of the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. It is administered as a regional unit of the modern region of Western Greece. Its capital is Pyrgos. Until 2011 it was Elis Prefecture, covering the same territory. The modern regional unit is nearly coterminous with the ancient Elis of the classical period. Kyllini ( el, Κυλλήνη) is a port town and a community in the municipal unit of Kastro-Kyllini, Elis, Greece. It is situated on the Ionian Sea coast, 11 km west of Andravida, 28 km northeast of Zakynthos and 39 km northwest of Pyrgos. From the port of Kyllini there are several ferry connections to the Ionian islands Zakynthos and Cephalonia. It was the terminus of the now dismantled Kavasila–Kyllini railway. Vartholomio ( el, Βαρθολομιό) is a town and a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pineios, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 60.696 km2. Its population was 5,899 in 2011, of which 3,603 lived in the town proper. The municipal unit covers the southern part of the hilly Kyllini peninsula, and the plains to the southeast. The town Vartholomio is in the plains, on the right bank of the river Pineios, which flows into the Ionian Sea south of the town. Kastro-Kyllini ( el, Κάστρο-Κυλλήνη) is a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Andravida-Kyllini, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 49.322 km2. The population was 3,622 in 2011. The municipality Kastro-Kyllini was created in 1999 as part of the Kapodistrias reform from the formerly independent communities Kyllini, Kato Panagia, Kastro and Neochori, that became municipal districts. Vartholomio–Loutra Kyllinis Railway
The Vartholomio – Loutra Kyllinis railway line ( el, Σιδηροδρομική Γραμμή Βαρθολομιού – Λουτρών Κυλλήνης) was a meter gauge railway line of the Piraeus, Athens and Peloponnese Railways (SPAP). It branched off the Kavasila–Kyllini railway line at the railway station of Vartholomio, 1 km north of the town at km 5.895 of that line. The Vartholomio – Loutra Kyllinis line was opened on 1 June 1892. Its construction coincided with the start of the exploitation of the hot springs at Loutra Kyllinis (the name means " Kyllini baths") by the SPAP, which constructed spa facilities, hotels and parks there. The line was shut down in 1969. The line was first known as the ''Vartholomio–Lintzi line'', as Loutra Kyllinis was previously known by the name of ''Lintzi''.
