Katy Tang () is a former American elected official in San Francisco, California. She served as a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors representing Supervisorial District 4. District 4 includes the neighborhoods of Central Sunset, Outer Sunset, Parkside, Outer Parkside, and Pine Lake Park. Early life and education She grew up in the Sunset District, attended Lowell High School, and graduated from University of California, Davis with a double B.A. in 3 years. She is also a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law. Electoral history Tang was appointed to the Board of Supervisors in February 2013 and then elected in two subsequent elections in November 2013 and November 2014. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is the legislative body within the government of the City and County of San Francisco. Government and politics The City and County of San Francisco is a consolidated city-county, being simultaneously a charter city and charter county with a consolidated government, a status it has had since 1856. The Parkside is a neighborhood in the western part of San Francisco, California, usually considered to be part of the Sunset District. It is located in the southern part of the Avenues south of Quintara and north of Sloat Boulevard.
