Katmerciler Hızır
The Katmerciler Hızır () is a family of MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) armoured personnel carriers designed and produced by Turkish company Katmerciler. Hızır is capable of carrying up to nine personnel and it's various modifications can perform a wide variety of tasks, such as military personnel transportation, medical evacuation, engaging in armed combat, serving as a mobile command and control center or weapons carrier platform, conducting military reconnaissance and border patrol missions or providing CBRN defence. The name ''Hızır'' is the Turkish variant of Khidr, a mystical Islamic figure described in the Quran as a guardian that aids those in distress. Variants The Ateş (; lit. NATO AEP-55 STANAG 4569 is a NATO Standardization Agreement covering the standards for the "Protection Levels for Occupants of Logistic and Light Armored Vehicles". The standard covers strikes from kinetic energy, artillery and IED blasts. Level 1 Kinetic Energy 7.62×51mm NATO Ball (Ball M80) at 30 meters with velocity 833 m/s 5.56×45mm NATO Ball (SS109) at 30 meters with a velocity of 900 m/s 5.56×45mm NATO Ball (M193) at 30 meters with a velocity of 937 m/s Protection against all three threats must be provided. Grenade and Mine Blast Hand grenades, unexploded artillery fragmenting submunitions, and other small anti personnel explosive devices detonated under the vehicle.
