Katie Button (born in 1983) is an American Chef and restaurateur. She holds the title of Executive Chef and CEO of the restaurant group ''Katie Button Restaurants'' which includes ''Cúrate Bar de Tapas'' and ''La Bodega by Cúrate'' located in Asheville, North Carolina.''.'' She also operates an online Spanish food market, ''Cúrate at Home'', and a culinary travel company, C''úrate Trips.'' Career Button was born in South Carolina, and raised in New Jersey. Button attended Cornell University, and obtained a master's degree in biomedical engineering at École Centrale Paris. A chef is a trained professional cook and tradesman who is proficient in all aspects of food preparation, often focusing on a particular cuisine. The word "chef" is derived from the term ''chef de cuisine'' (), the director or head of a kitchen. Chefs can receive formal training from an institution, as well as by apprenticing with an experienced chef.
