Kathy Tayler
Kathy Tayler (born 23 March 1960) is a British television presenter and former champion modern pentathlete. She is best known for co-presenting TV-am between 1989 and 1992, and ''Holiday'' on BBC One, alongside Des Lynam and the late Anne Gregg. Athletics Tayler won the women's modern pentathlon World Cup in 1979 at the age of 19. She was a member of the Great Britain modern pentathlon team that won gold at the Modern Pentathlon World Championships in 1981 and 1982. She also won a bronze medal in the individual competition at the same event in 1982. She retired from competition in 1983 and she gained a BSc Honours degree in physiology at Southampton University. TV career After appearing as a contestant on the TV sports quiz ''A Question of Sport'' she was offered and accepted the job of presenter on a sport-themed television programme for children called ''Stopwatch''. Good Morning Britain (1983)
''Good Morning Britain'' was TV-am's main breakfast television show, broadcast on weekdays from February 1983 until the franchise ended in 1992. It had many different presenters throughout its run. After a difficult first few months, which almost led to the failure of the broadcasting franchise, ''Good Morning Britain'' became a success. The studio buildings in Hawley Crescent would later be acquired by what is now Paramount Global, and ultimately used as Paramount International Networks' offices. Jayne Irving (born 30 August 1956, Sheffield, West Riding of Yorkshire) is a British TV presenter best known for appearing on the Breakfast Television show ''Good Morning Britain (1983), Good Morning Britain'', plus the BBC One weekday morning phone-in show ''Open Air'', which discussed some of the programmes that had been broadcast the night before. Career Irving began her broadcasting career reading the news bulletins on the Sheffield-based independent radio station Radio Hallam in the late 1970s. Richard Keys (born 23 April 1957) is an English sports presenter who has worked for BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Talksport, Al Jazeera, Fox Sports, ESPN Star Sports , BeIN Sports; and has presented many top-level football matches. Career His career started in London in 1976 when he began working for the Fleet Street Sports Agency Hayter's until 1978, when he moved to Liverpool and worked at Radio City as a football commentator. In 1982, he moved to Manchester to work at Piccadilly Radio as sports editor and football commentator. In 1984 Keys moved back to London, where he joined the ITV network as one of the main anchors of breakfast show TV-am. Modern Pentathlon
The modern pentathlon is an Olympic sport consisting of fencing (one-touch épée), freestyle swimming, equestrian show jumping, pistol shooting, and cross country running. The event is inspired by the traditional pentathlon held during the ancient Olympics. The modern pentathlon was first held in 1912, and its rules have changed several times over the years. The latest structure, as of the 2020 Olympics, consists of three separate events for fencing, swimming, and equestrian, which determine each athlete's starting time in the final event. The last event, called the laser-run, alternates four legs of laser pistol shooting followed by an 800 m run (for 3200 m in total).
