Kathy May
Kathy May Fritz (born June 18, 1956) is an American former professional tennis player. She reached three Grand Slam quarterfinals, once at the US Open in 1978 and twice at the French Open in 1977 and 1978. She won seven WTA singles titles during her career, and achieved a career-high ranking of world no. 10 in 1977. She also competed under the names Kathy May Teacher after her marriage in 1979 to tennis player Brian Teacher, and Kathy May-Paben. Her son Taylor Fritz is also a professional tennis player, and he was the 2015 ITF Junior World Champion. Early and personal life May was born and grew up in Beverly Hills, California. She is the great-granddaughter of David May, founder of The May Department Stores Company (now Macy's). Los Angeles Open (tennis)
The Los Angeles Open was a former tennis tournament held in Los Angeles, United States from 1927 until 2012. It included a women's draw until 1974 when Linda Lewis won the last ladies title. Subsequently, it became a men-only event and integrated into the ATP's professional tennis circuit. The inaugural edition of the event, known as the Pacific Southwest Championships, was organized by Perry T. Jones and held at the Los Angeles Tennis Club (LATC) starting in October 1927. Marita Redondo
Marita Redondo (born February 19, 1956) is an American former tennis player who was active during the 1970s and early 1980s. Her best singles performance at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the fourth round at the 1978 US Open where she lost in three sets to Wendy Turnbull. At both the French Open (1976) and Wimbledon (1978) she reached the third round in the singles, losing to Virginia Ruzici and Ruta Gerulaitis respectively. Brigitte Cuypers (born 3 December 1955) is a retired tennis player from South Africa. Cuypers reached the final of the South African Open (tennis), South African Championships singles event on five consecutive occasions from 1975 to 1979 and won the title in 1976, 1978 and 1979. In 1977, she won the doubles title at the Italian Open (tennis), Italian Open with compatriot Marise Kruger. Ann Kiyomura
Ann Kiyomura-Hayashi (born August 22, 1955) is a retired American professional tennis player. She is from San Mateo, California. Kiyomura played on the WTA Tour from 1973 to 1984. She played in 11 US Opens, reaching the fourth round in 1978. In 1973, she won the Wimbledon junior singles title, beating Martina Navratilova. In 1975, she won the Wimbledon women's doubles title, playing with Kazuko Sawamatsu. She reached the final of the Australian Open women's doubles in 1980. Barbara Jordan (born April 2, 1957) is an American former professional tennis player who won the 1979 Australian Open singles title. Jordan also won the mixed doubles title at the 1983 French Open with Eliot Teltscher. Jordan was a three-time All-American at Stanford University, where she obtained her degree in economics in three years.
