Kateřina Emmons
Kateřina Emmons (also Emmonsová), née Kůrková (; born 17 November 1983) is a Czech sport shooter who won three Olympic medals. She competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics, where she won a bronze medal, and the 2008 Summer Olympics, where she won her first gold medal in the women's 10 metre air rifle competition, as well as a silver medal in the 50 metre rifle three positions event. In addition to her Olympic achievements, Emmons won gold at the 2002 ISSF World Shooting Championships in the 10 metre air rifle competition, and a silver medal four years later in 2006. Career Emmons went to the 2004 Summer Olympics, where she won a bronze medal in the 10 metre air rifle competition and finished 27th in her second event, the 50 metre rifle three positions event. 2007 ISSF World Cup
The 2007 ISSF World Cup was held in the fifteen Olympic shooting events. Four qualification events were held in each event, spanning from March to July, and the best shooters qualified for the ISSF World Cup Final in October, which was held in Bangkok, Thailand for the rifle and pistol events, and in Belgrade, Serbia for the shotgun events. Notable about this season is that Europe only had one world cup in the rifle and pistol events (Munich), as Milan was left out in favour of a more worldwide spread of venues. 10 metre air rifle (N.B. For "Meter" in this article – read "Metre") is an International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) shooting event, shot at a bullseye target over a distance of using a calibre air rifle with a maximum weight of . It is one of the ISSF-governed shooting sports included in the Summer Olympics since the 1984 Los Angeles Games. Shots are fired from the standing position only, as opposed to some other airgun disciplines such as for three positions (popular in the United States) or in disabled sports, which allows sitting and prone positions. Due to the low recoil of air guns and the need for stability, the shooter frequently adopts a deliberately lordotic and scoliotic posture, which allows the non-dominant elbow to be rested against the chest to support the forearm and improves the stability of the shooting stance. The Women's 50 metre rifle three positions event at the 2012 Olympic Games took place on 4 August 2012 at the Royal Artillery Barracks. The event consisted of two rounds: a qualifier and a final. Du Li
Du Li (; born 5 March 1982 in Yiyuan, Zibo, Shandong) is a female Chinese sport shooter who was a gold medalist at the 2004 Olympics and the 2008 Olympics; she has also won titles at World Cup, World Championships and the Asian Games. Career Du Li competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics, where she won the gold medal in the women's 10 metre air rifle competition. She has achieved the maximum 400 in this event twice (2003 and 2006). She was unable to defend that title in the 2008 Summer Olympics, losing to Kateřina Emmons on August 9, 2008, and finishing 5th in the 2008 Summer Olympics. However, she fought back to win a gold medal in the women's 50 metre rifle three positions competition, setting a new Olympic record in the process. 50 Metre Rifle Three Positions
50 meter rifle three positions (formerly known as one of four free rifle disciplines) is an International Shooting Sport Federation event, a miniature version of 300 meter rifle three positions. It consists of the kneeling, prone, and standing positions, fired in that order, traditionally with 3×40 shots for men and 3×20 shots for women. In January 2018, the number of shots was equalised between genders with the Women's 3x20 being abolished in favour of a 3x40 match identical to the men's event.
