Uashat-Maliotenam
Innu Takuaikan Uashat Mak Mani-Utenam is an Innu First Nations band government in Quebec, Canada. It is based in Sept-Îles in the Côte-Nord region on the North shore of the Saint Lawrence River. It owns two reserves: Maliotenam 27A and Uashat 27 located at both ends of Sept-Îles. It is governed by a band council and is a member of the Mamuitun Tribal Council. Population , the band has a total registered population of 4,781 members. According to Statistics Canada's 2016 Canadian Census, Uashat had a population of 1,592 up 7.2% from 1,485 found in the 2011 Census. Maliotenam had a population of 1,542 in 2016, up 17.2% from 1,316 in 2011. Politics The Nation is governed by a chief and band council of six members. Duplessis (electoral District)
Duplessis is a provincial electoral district in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the municipalities of Sept-Îles, Port-Cartier, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Fermont and the community of Maliotenam. It also includes a single municipality from the Nord-du-Québec region: the Naskapi village municipality of Kawawachikamach (not to be confused with the Naskapi reserved land of the same name, which Duplessis also includes, but is in Côte-Nord). It was created for the 1960 election from parts of the Saguenay provincial electoral district. Lorraine Richard
Lorraine Richard (born July 30, 1959 in Havre-Saint-Pierre, Quebec) is a Quebec politician. She is the current Member of National Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Duplessis in the Côte-Nord region. She represents the Parti Québécois. Richard was a nursing assistant in a health center in Havre St-Pierre for 25 years in which she was also the secretary for the Minganie Health Center's employee union. She was also a school commissioner for 16 years, the Vice-president of the Côte-Nord School Board's Association for five years. Richard was elected in Duplessis in the 2003 elections and was the PQ's critic for citizen relations, maritime affairs and social services. Jean Boulet
Jean Boulet (16 November 1920, Brunoy – 13 February 2011, Aix-en-Provence) was a French aviator. In 1957, Boulet was awarded the Aeronautical Medal; in 1983, he became one of the founding members of the French National Air and Space Academy. He died at the age of 90. Early life He was born on 16 November 1920 in Brunoy, near Paris, Jean Boulet was a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique he entered in 1940 and was first hired in 1947 by the SNCASE, which would become Sud Aviation and then later the helicopter division of Aérospatiale. 2022 Quebec General Election
The 2022 Quebec general election was held on October 3, 2022, to elect the members of the National Assembly of Quebec. Under the province's fixed election date law, passed in 2013, "the general election following the end of a Legislature shall be held on the first Monday of October of the fourth calendar year following the year that includes the last day of the previous Legislature", setting the date for October 3, 2022. The Coalition Avenir Québec increased its parliamentary majority in the election.
