Katelele Ching'oma
Katelele Ching'oma (4 June 1991 – 18 January 2024) was a Malawian musical artist and songwriter known for his breakthrough hit song "Asowe" in 2009 and other songs. He released his debut album ''Ndili Nawo Mwayi'' in 2011. Life and career Katelele was born in Nsanje on 4 June 1991. He moved to Lilongwe for his musical career. Malawi
Malawi (; or aláwi Tumbuka: ''Malaŵi''), officially the Republic of Malawi, is a landlocked country in Southeastern Africa that was formerly known as Nyasaland. It is bordered by Zambia to the west, Tanzania to the north and northeast, and Mozambique to the east, south and southwest. Nsanje
Nsanje (formerly Port Herald) is the main city in Nsanje District within the Southern Region of Malawi. The intense urbanization in the fertile Shire River valley has formed an extensive urbanized zone that runs from the city of Bangula, further north, passing through the city of Nsanje, in the center, and arriving in the city of Marka, in the south, even crossing the Mozambican border, covering the town of Vila Nova de Fronteira. Transport The city has a railway station on the Sena railway, under concession of Central East African Railways. The railway through Nsanje that connects Blantyre with Beira, Mozambique was severely disrupted by the Mozambique Civil War and remains closed. Lilongwe
Lilongwe (, , ) is the capital and most populated city of the African country of Malawi. It has a population of 989,318 as of the 2018 Census, up from a population of 674,448 in 2008. In 2020 that figure was 1,122,000. The city is located in the central region of Malawi, in the district of the same name, near the borders with Mozambique and Zambia, and it is an important economic and transportation hub for central Malawi. Kamuzu Central Hospital is a tertiary referral hospital in the city of Lilongwe, (capital of Malawi). It is estimated to have 780 beds, although the true number of patients always exceeds the number of beds. It serves approximately 5 million people, referred from five district hospitals and from other parts of Malawi and parts of neighboring Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Moses Makawa
Moses Makawa is a Malawian musician and songwriter. He has collaborated with Lucius Banda, Billy Kaunda, Phungu Joseph Nkasa, and Katelele Ching'oma. Makawa is the maker of ‘Ali Mmanjamanja'. His themes in his music remain about witchcraft, magic, love, criticism, blasts on perpetrators of injustices. In 2010s, he partnered with Katelele Ching'oma and Mozambican Afro Kilos in a song "Ndilandileni". Background Makawa attended his primary school education at Chibathe before going to Vonken Community Day Secondary School in Mulanje. In 2003, he left from the choir he was in and formed his own music group which played music using locally made musical instruments. He named it New Generations Band and went around playing with them till 2006. Malawian Artists

Malawi derives its name from the Maravi, a Bantu people who came from the southern Congo about 600 years ago. On reaching the area north of Lake Malawi, the Maravi divided. One branch, the ancestors of the present-day Chewas, moved south to the west bank of the lake. The other, the ancestors of the Nyanjas, moved down the east bank to the southern part of the country.
