Kate Schipper
Katherine "Kate" Schipper (born June 28, 1995) is an American ice hockey forward, who most recently played with Minnesota Whitecaps of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) in the 2018–19 season, winning the Isobel Cup. Early life Schipper was raised in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, where she attended Breck School and was five-time varsity letter winner on the school's hockey team. Twice named an all-state honoree and three-time All-Tri Metro Conference awardee, Schipper led the team to a Minnesota Class A State Tournament championship in 2012, after a second-place finish in 2010 and third-place finish in 2011. Schipper played club hockey for the Minnesota Junior Whitecaps. She also was a varsity softball and soccer player. She was selected for USA Hockey development camps from 2010 to 2012. Minnesota Whitecaps
The Minnesota Whitecaps are a professional ice hockey team in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF; formerly known as the National Women's Hockey League). They play in Richfield, Minnesota, part of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area, at the Richfield Ice Arena. Established in 2004, the Whitecaps were part of the Western Women's Hockey League (WWHL) during 2004 to 2011. The team was independent, following the dissolution of the Western Women's Hockey League after the 2010–11 season. While independent, the Whitecaps' schedule consisted mostly of games against women's college ice hockey squads. The team also played some exhibition games against teams in the new National Women's Hockey League during the league's inaugural 2015–16 season but was not an official member of that league. Minnesota–Duluth Bulldogs Women's Ice Hockey
The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs women's ice hockey team plays for the University of Minnesota Duluth at the AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minnesota. The team is a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the Division I tier. 2012 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship
The 2012 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship was the fifth IIHF World Women's U18 Championships and was hosted in Zlín and Přerov, Czech Republic. It began on December 31, 2011 with the gold medal game played on January 7, 2012. Canada won the title for the second time after defeating United States 3–0 in the final. The Buffalo Beauts are a professional ice hockey team based in Amherst, New York, United States. The team was established in 2015 as one of the four founding franchises of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), originally named the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). 4th NWHL All-Star Game
The 4th National Women's Hockey League, NWHL All-Star Game took place on February 10, 2019, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. More than 6,000 people attended the game, setting an attendance record for the NWHL. Lee Stecklein of the Minnesota Whitecaps and goaltender Shannon Szabados of the Buffalo Beauts were named team captains. Slated to begin at 2:45 pm, the NWHL All-Stars took to the ice after the NHL's Nashville Predators and the St. Louis Blues played their scheduled game at 11:30 am. Metropolitan Riveters
The Metropolitan Riveters (originally the New York Riveters) are a professional women's ice hockey team based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with home games at the American Dream Meadowlands ice rink. They were one of the four charter franchises of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), now known as the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Its team name and logo are based upon Rosie the Riveter, the subject of the World War II-era motivational poster "We Can Do It!". The Riveters played one season in Brooklyn before moving to the New Jersey Devils practice rink in Newark, New Jersey, in 2016. 3rd NWHL All-Star Game
The 3rd NWHL All-Star Game took place on February 11, 2018 at TRIA Rink in Saint Paul, Minnesota. A skills competition was held the day prior on February 10, 2018. Brittany Ott of the Boston Pride and Amanda Leveille of the Buffalo Beauts served as All-Star captains. Of note, Leveille became the first Canadian-born player to serve as a captain in the NWHL All-Star Game. The coaches for the event were Minnesota Whitecaps legend Winny Brodt for Team Leveille, while Winter Games gold medalist Tricia Dunn served in the same capacity with Team Ott. NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Tournament
The annual NCAA women's ice hockey tournament—officially known as the National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championship—is a college ice hockey tournament held in the United States by the National Collegiate Athletic Association to determine the top women's team in the NCAA. The 2020 championship was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike most NCAA sports, women's ice hockey uses a modified version of the National Collegiate championship format, which means Division I and Division II teams compete against each other in the same tournament.
