Kate Palmer
Kate Palmer is an Australian sport administrator. She was the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Sports Commission from January 2017 to January 2020. Previous to this appointment, she was Chief Executive Officer of Netball Australia. Palmer has been a leading figure in netball and Australian sport since the early 1990s. Palmer grew up in Shepparton, Victoria. She played netball for Victoria. Palmer has a Honours Degree in Applied Science from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Masters of Sport Management from Deakin University. Palmer was the Chief Executive of Netball Victoria from 2000 to 2006. In 2007, she was appointed Chief Executive of Netball Australia and resigned in November 2016. Australian Commonwealth Games Association
Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) is the Commonwealth Games Association for Australia, and is responsible for representing and promoting the Commonwealth Sport movement in the country, and organises the participation of athletes at the Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games. It changed it name from the Australian Commonwealth Games Association to Commonwealth Games Australia in 2015. The Commonwealth Games have been held in Australia five times, most recently the 2018 Commonwealth Games were held on the Gold Coast, Queensland. The Order of Australia is an honour that recognises Australian citizens and other persons for outstanding achievement and service. It was established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, on the advice of the Australian Government. Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) was opened in 1981. AIS Sports Star of the Year (later named AIS Athlete of the Year) was first established in 1983/84 with the first winner being swimmer Karen Phillips. In 1995, AIS Junior Athlete of the Year was established. Other major awards include AIS Team of The Year, AIS Coach of the Year and AIS Program of the Year. Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority
The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) was a government statutory authority tasked to protect Australia's sporting integrity through the elimination of doping. The authority was part of the Department of Health's portfolio and was established on 13 March 2006 under the Australian Sports Anti‑Doping Authority Act 2006. On 1 July 2020, it became part of Sport Integrity Australia. The ASADA drug tested Australian athletes who competed at state and national levels. ASADA also tested international athletes if they were competing in events held in Australia. It was also ASADA's role to inform the sporting community of drugs and related safety issues.
