Kate Aumonier
Kate Aumonier is a London based singer-songwriter born in Sussex, England. Her debut album was released in 2004 entitled 'Here I am'. Biography As a former drama school student, she was talent spotted by veteran UK producer Glyn Johns, a friend of Aumonier's father at the age of 17. Johns was most impressed by her vocal talents and recommended that she travel to Los Angeles and team up with his son Ethan, also a well known producer. Johns found Aumonier session work on Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt’s Grammy-nominated duo album, Western Wall: The Tucson Sessions. In 2000, Aumonier returned to the UK where she began a residency at "The Kashmire Klub", one of London's up-and-coming venues. She opened for A-ha at the Royal Albert Hall and toured the country. Aumonier then teamed up with fellow songwriter Tim Lind and began on writing material for a planned solo project. Ben & Jason were a singer-songwriter duo from London, England consisting of Ben Parker and Jason Hazeley. Formed in 1998, they released three albums on the Go! Beat/Universal labels: ''Hello'', ''Emoticons'' and ''Ten Songs About You''. When they were dropped from their major label deal, the band released their final album, ''Goodbye'', on the independent label Setanta. As songwriters-for-hire, they collaborated with Mundy and Martine McCutcheon. Their single "Air Guitar", from the album ''Emoticons'', reached No. 79 in the UK Singles Chart. AllMusic described ''Emoticons'' as an "impressive collection of elegantly crafted folk pop." Better known is their collaboration with Kinobe, "Slip into Something..." The Isle of Wight Festival 2005 is the fourth revived Isle of Wight Festival on the Seaclose Park site in Newport on the Isle of Wight. The attendance of this festival was around 50,000, a 15,000 increase on sales of the year before, which was testament to its growing success as a British music festival. It was the second year of Nokia sponsorship, which saw the likes of The Who, David Bowie and R.E.M. grace the Island stage. In this year the Isle of Wight festival began to seriously stake its claim as one of the big festivals of Britain. Attracting a line-up featuring Faithless, Travis and R.E.M.
