Kat Burns
Kat Elizabeth Burns is a Canadian musician known as KASHKA who was the lead songwriter and vocalist of Forest City Lovers. She is also a visual artist and voice over actor. Career Burns led folk-pop band Forest City Lovers from 2006 to 2012, releasing three full-length albums and one vinyl single with the band before their indefinite hiatus. In 2010, she started KASHKA as a side project and has since taken it on full-time. She has released two full-length albums and a number of singles under the "KASHKA" moniker. Burns is also involved in community organisations Girls Rock Camp Toronto and SKETCH. Oshawa ( , also ; 2021 population 175,383; CMA 415,311) is a city in Ontario, Canada, on the Lake Ontario shoreline. It lies in Southern Ontario, approximately east of Downtown Toronto. ''Friends in Bellwoods'' is a compilation album, released in 2007. It was the first release on Out of This Spark, through a distribution deal with Sonic Unyon Records. The album is named for a house on Bellwoods Avenue in Toronto, shared by two members of the band Ohbijou, which ''NOW'' has written "might just be the new epicentre of T.O.'s indie rock community". All of the featured artists are members or friends and collaborators of Ohbijou, and many of the tracks on the album were recorded in the house itself."Friends in Bellwoods". Jared Raab is a Canadian writer and filmmaker, best known for his work on the television series ''Nirvanna the Band the Show''. Originally from Millbrook, Ontario, Raab studied film at York University. Girls Rock Camp
The Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls is both the original Rock n Roll Camp for Girls non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon, United States, and the common name associated with the Girls Rock Camp movement of youth organizations for girls inspired by the original camp in Portland. The camp in Portland gives girls ages 8–18 the opportunity to learn rock instruments, form bands, write songs, and perform. The mostly volunteer and female staff strives to inspire self-esteem and mutual support among diverse campers within this rock band framework. The first camp was held in August 2001.
