Karyn Polito
Karyn Ellen Polito (born November 11, 1966) is an American attorney, businesswoman, and politician serving as the 72nd lieutenant governor of Massachusetts. Polito was a Republican member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives for the 11th Worcester district from 2001 to 2011. Polito was first elected lieutenant governor in 2014 with her running mate, Charlie Baker. They were both re-elected in 2018. As of 2022, Polito and her running mate Charlie Baker are the only Republican statewide elected officials in Massachusetts. In December 2021, they both announced that they would not seek re-election in 2022. Early life and education Polito is a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The lieutenant governor of Massachusetts is the first in the line to discharge the powers and duties of the office of governor following the incapacitation of the Governor of Massachusetts. The constitutional honorific title for the office is His, or Her, Honor. St. Paul Diocesan Junior-Senior High School is a private school, private, Roman Catholic high school in Worcester, Massachusetts, United States, associated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester. It was established on the site of Holy Name Central Catholic Junior Senior High School. History Holy Name High School opened on September 14, 1942. The new high school offered a bilingual program in French and English. By 1946, student enrollment had grown to 122 students and, in 1957, Holy Name’s status was changed to a Central Catholic High School. Stephen "Steve" Kerrigan is an American political executive who was the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts in the 2014 election. From 2003 to 2007, Kerrigan served as Chief of Staff to Massachusetts Attorney General Thomas Reilly, and from 2009 to 2012, CEO of the Democratic National Convention. Martha Coakley
Martha Mary Coakley (born July 14, 1953) is an American lobbyist and lawyer who served as Attorney General of Massachusetts from 2007 to 2015. Prior to serving as Attorney General, she was District Attorney of Middlesex County from 1999 to 2007. Coakley was the Democratic nominee in the 2010 special election to fill the United States Senate seat long held by Ted Kennedy (and held in the interim by Paul G. Kirk). Charles Duane Baker Jr. (born November 13, 1956) is an American politician and businessman serving as the 72nd governor of Massachusetts since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, Baker was a cabinet official under two governors of Massachusetts and served ten years as CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. The Massachusetts Lottery was established on September 27, 1971, following the legalization of gambling by the Massachusetts General Court, the legislature of the Commonwealth.
