Kartoo
KartOO was a meta search engine which displayed a visual interface. It operated from 2001 to early 2010. Interface KartOO had an Adobe Flash GUI, as opposed to a text-based list of results. Its color scheme was to a degree reminiscent of Apple Computer's Aqua interface. Search results were presented as a "map", with blob-like masses of varying color connecting each item. On rollover of an individual result a bunch of red lines connected related links. KartOO sometimes helped to narrow down searches with a general topic. Every "blob" clicked added another word to the search query. The map would often succeed in presenting keywords or subtopics that defined the topic one was searching on, very much like an interactive spider diagram. Visual

Aqua is the graphical user interface, design language and Theme (computing), visual theme of Apple Inc., Apple's macOS operating system. It was originally based on the theme of water, with droplet-like components and a liberal use of reflection effects and translucency. Its goal is to "incorporate color, depth, translucence, and complex textures into a visually appealing interface" in macOS applications. QWERTY () is a keyboard layout for Latin-script alphabets. The name comes from the order of the first six Computer keyboard keys#Types, keys on the top left letter row of the keyboard ( ). The QWERTY design is based on a layout created for the Sholes and Glidden typewriter and sold to E. Remington and Sons in 1873. Yippy was a metasearch engine that grouped searched results into clusters. It was originally developed and released by Vivísimo in 2004 under the name Clusty, before Vivisimo was later acquired by IBM and Yippy was sold in 2010 to a company now called Yippy, Inc. At the time, the website received 100,000 unique visitors a month. , Yippy's main page states their searches are powered by IBM Watson, asserting it is "the ''right'' search" (italics theirs) that "delivers fair search results based on balanced algorithms." In 2019, Yippy, Inc. CEO Rich Granville presented the search engine as free of censorship of conservative views and called the company an "intelligence enterprise" with high-level White House connections.
