Lila Karp (1933 – September 15, 2008) was an American feminist author, teacher, activist, and psychotherapist. She is best known for her 1969 novel ''The Queen Is in the Garbage'and is profiled in the book ''Feminists Who Changed America, 1963-1975''. Karp spent a decade living in London, where she wrote ''The Queen Is in the Garbage'', before moving to New York City in the late 1960s. Theodore Cyrus Karp (17 July 1926 – 5 November 2015) was an American musicologist. His principal area of study was Secular music, mainly mediaeval monophony, especially the music of the trouvères. He was a major contributor in this area to the ''Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians''. Biography Born in New York, New York, he attended Queens College of the City University of New York, where he received his B.A. in 1947. He later attended the Juilliard School of Music and, from 1949 to 1950, the Catholic University of Leuven. He returned to New York University, where he studied under Curt Sachs and Gustave Reese. Stan Smith beat him in the Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament 1964 Boys’ High School final. Karp, a top-10 nationally ranked junior from Los Angeles, represented the U.S. Junior Davis Cup team and during the late 1960s played for the UCLA Bruins in varsity tennis. He earned All-American honors for the Bruins in 1968, during which year he was co-captain of the team. Ryan Jason Karp (born April 5, 1970) is an American former major league pitcher who played for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1995 and 1997. Baseball career Out of The University of Miami Karp was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 73rd round of the 1989 amateur player draft. He did not sign with the team, and played college baseball at the University of Miami. Karp was drafted in the 9th round of the 1992 amateur draft by the New York Yankees and signed. Robert Louis Karp (1911–1975) was an American comics writer. He began working for the Walt Disney Company in the 1930s, and from 1938 to 1974, he wrote the scripts for the daily ''Donald Duck'' newspaper strips which were illustrated by Al Taliaferro and, after Taliaferro's death in 1969, by Frank Grundeen. Karp also scripted the comic book ''Donald Duck Finds Pirate Gold'', the first American Donald Duck adventure comic.
