Karol Skowerski
(born 9 May 1984) is a Polish professional pool player. After reaching the last 16 of the 2012 World Pool-Billiard Association World Nine-ball Championship, Skowerski won the 2012 World Pool Masters, defeating fellow Pole Mateusz Śniegocki in the final 8–6, which was held in Kielce, Poland. Skowerski also reached the final of the 2012 World Cup of Pool, alongside Śniegocki, losing to Team Finland, Petri Makkonen and Mika Immonen 10–8. World Pool Masters
The World Pool Masters is an annual international nine-ball tournament. Formerly, it was called the European Pool Masters (until 1995) until players from other parts of the globe were invited. History Throughout much of its history, the tournament has been featuring sixteen world-class pool players, competing in single-elimination format. In 2010, the number of players was doubled to 32. The first round of the event was played in double elimination with the second round in single-elimination. In 2011, the tournament reverted to the original 16-player single-elimination format, with each match a race-to-8, winner breaks. Straight pool, which is also called 14.1 continuous and 14.1 rack, is a cue sport in which two competing players attempt to as many billiard balls as possible without playing a . Mika Immonen (born 17 December 1972) is a Finnish professional Hall of Fame pool player, nicknamed "The Iceman." Career Immonen won the 2001 WPA World Nine-ball Championship in Cardiff, Wales. That same year, he was the runner-up to Corey Deuel in the US Open Nine-ball Championship In 2002 he won the UPA International Ten-ball Championship. He has represented Team Europe on thirteen occasions in the Mosconi Cup, most recently in 2013. For the fourth straight year, the event is once again being held in the Philippines, this time at the Robinsons Place Manila in Manila, from September 4 to 9, 2012.
