Karol Gruszecki
Karol Gruszecki (born 4 November 1989) is a Polish professional basketball player for Spójnia Stargard of the Polish Basketball League (PLK) and the Polish national basketball team. Professional career Gruszecki signed with Spirou Charleroi in Belgium for the 2013–14 season. He finished the season in his home country of Poland, on loan with Czarni Słupsk. For the next season, Gruszecki signed a full contract with Czarni Słupsk. After the 2014–15 season, he was named to the All-PLK First Team. He also finished as runner-up in the voting for Best Polish Player. He signed with reigning PLK champion and EuroLeague team Stelmet Zielona Góra in the 2015 offseason. He played with them for two seasons before signing with Pierniki Toruń. On 19 February 2018, Torún won its first trophy when it beat Zielona Góra 88–80 in the final of the Polish Cup. Czarni Słupsk
Czarni Słupsk, more commonly known as Grupa Sierleccy Czarni Słupsk because of sponsorship reasons, is a Polish basketball team, based in Słupsk, playing in Polish Basketball League (PLK). The home arena of the club was Hala Gryfia. History In July 1945, the original Czarni Słupsk team was formed, by railway workers who moved from Krakow to Słupsk after World War II. The club was originated as an association football club, but in 1989 the basketball section was founded. In the 1998–99 season, the team promoted to the Polish Basketball League (PLK). In the 2005–06 season, the first club honour was one: the bronze medal. In the 2010s Czarni Słupsk was a steady competitor in the PLK, with several Playoff appearances. The Poland men's national basketball team ( pl, Reprezentacja Polski w koszykówce) represents Poland in international basketball competitions. They are controlled by the Polish Basketball Federation (PZKosz). EuroBasket 2017
EuroBasket 2017 was the 40th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe and held between 31 August and 17 September 2017. Beginning from 2017, the continental championships take place every four years with a similar system of qualification as for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. Like the previous edition, the tournament was co-hosted by four countries. Games in the group stage were held in Turkey, Finland, Israel and Romania. The knock-out phase was played in Istanbul, Turkey. Slovenia won their first-ever tournament after defeating Serbia 93–85 in the final. Spain won the bronze medal by beating Russia with the same result. EuroBasket 2015 was the 39th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe. It was co-hosted by Croatia, France, Germany, and Latvia, making it the first EuroBasket held in more than one country. It started on 5 September and ended on 20 September 2015.
