The Karnataka women's cricket team is an Indian domestic cricket team representing the Indian state of Karnataka. Karnataka State Cricket Association
Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) is the governing body of Cricket in the Indian state of Karnataka. The association is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India and governs the Karnataka cricket team. The association was founded in 1933 and has been affiliated to the BCCI ever since. The KSCA operates the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, which hosts International level Test, ODI and T20 cricket matches. It also operates a newly built stadium in Hubli and Belagavi. Women's Senior One Day Trophy
The Women's Senior One Day Trophy, previously known as the Senior Women's One Day League, is a women's List A cricket tournament held in India. It began in the 2006–07 season, with 24 teams representing state cricket associations, whilst the most recent season, 2022–23, had 37 teams competing. Railways have won the tournament 14 times, including the first and most recent season, whilst Delhi and Bengal have won the tournament once apiece. History The tournament, as the Senior Women's One Day League, began in the 2006–07 season, the first competition involving state teams in India since the Senior National Women's Cricket Championship, a combined List A and first-class competition that ended in 2002–03. List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Shubha Satheesh
Shubha Satheesh (born 13 July 1999) is an Indian cricketer who currently plays for Railways and Royal Challengers Bangalore. She plays as a left-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler. She has previously played for Karnataka. She made her international debut in December 2023, in a Test match for India against England. Early life Shubha was born on 13 July 1999 in Bangalore. Domestic career Shubha made her debut for Karnataka in November 2012, against Andhra. She scored her maiden Twenty20 half-century in January 2017, with 61 * against Saurashtra, and her maiden List A half-century in December 2018, with 72 against Tamil Nadu. Vellaswamy Vanitha
Vellaswamy Rama Vanitha (born 19 July 1990) is an Indian former cricketer. She played as an opening batter from Karnataka. In January 2014, she made her Women's One Day International (WODI) and Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) debuts, against Sri Lanka. In February 2022, she retired from all forms of cricket. Personal life Vanitha has two sisters and a brother, and her family has been very supportive of her career choice. She used to train with boys at a coaching camp. Her father was the one who took her to the Karnataka Institute of Cricket when she was 11. As a child she often use to play gully cricket with her father and brother which helped in laying a strong foundation for love of cricket very early in her life. Veda Krishnamurthy
Veda Krishnamurthy (born 16 October 1992) is an Indian cricketer. She made her debut in international cricket at the age of 18 in a one day international against England Women at Derby on 30 June 2011. Krishnamurthy went on to score 51 runs in her ODI international debut. She is a right-handed batter and bowls right-arm legbreak. Early life The youngest of four siblings in her family, Veda started playing street cricket when she was 3. As a young girl, she was enrolled for karate classes which she hated. However, she credits the martial arts form for building her strength from a young age. Veda even earned a black belt in karate at the age of 12. 2021–22 Women's Senior One Day Trophy
The 2021–22 Women's Senior One Day Trophy was the 16th edition of the women's List A cricket competition in India. It took place from 28 October to 20 November 2021, with 37 teams competing in six round-robin divisions. Railways, who were the defending champions, won their 13th one-day title, beating Karnataka in the final. Competition format 37 teams competed in the tournament, divided into the Elite Group and the Plate Group, with the teams in the Elite Group further divided into Groups A, B, C, D and E. Each group took place in one host city, under COVID-19 protocols. The top two teams in each Elite Group progressed to the knockout stages, along with the top team from the Plate Group.
