Karnataka Milk Federation
The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) is a dairy cooperative from Karnataka, India, which sells products such as milk, curds, ghee, butter, ice cream, cholocates, and Sweets from the Indian subcontinent, sweets under the brand name Nandini. It is a federation of milk producers under the ownership of Government of Karnataka, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of Karnataka. Almost every district in state of Karnataka has milk producing co-operatives. The milk is collected from farmers who are its members, processed and sold in the market by the brand of Nandini. It is the second largest milk co-operative in India after Amul. Background The first of the dairy co-operatives that make up KMF started in 1955 in Kudige, Kodagu District. Karnataka is one of the highest economic growth states in India with an expected GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) growth of 9.5% in the 2021–22 fiscal year. The Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), known by its trade name Milma, is a state government cooperative society established in 1980 headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram.
