Karl Rhoads
Karl A. Rhoads (born January 24, 1963) is an American politician, lawyer and a Democratic member of the Hawaii Senate since 2016 representing District 13. Rhoads previously served consecutively from 2013 to 2016 representing District 29 in the Hawaii House of Representatives and from January 2007 to 2013 in the District 28 seat. Education and career Rhoads earned his BA in chemistry and history at Andrews University, his MA at the University of London, and his JD from George Washington University. Rhoads was a summer clerk for Corinne Watanabe on the Intermediate Court of Appeals in 1985. The Hawaii State Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Hawaii. The state legislature is a bicameral body consisting of a lower house, the Hawaii State House of Representatives, with 51 representatives, and an upper house, the 25-member Hawaii State Senate. Corinne Kaoru Amemiya Watanabe (born August 1, 1950) is an American judge from the state of Hawaii. Watanabe was the first female Attorney General of Hawaii from 1985 until 1986. Early life and education Watanabe was born in Wahiawa, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. Her parents were Keiji and Setsuko (Matsumiya) Amemiya. Watanabe attended Leilehua High School in Wahiawa. Watanabe received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 1971. Watanabe attended Baylor University and received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1974.
