Karl Gannon
Karl Gannon (born 11 September 1974 in Dublin) is an Irish former footballer. He made his League of Ireland debut for Home Farm at Waterford United on 6 October 1991. He was the top scorer in the 1993–94 League of Ireland First Division with 16 goals. He signed for Shamrock Rovers in 1995 where he stayed for two seasons making two appearances in European competition before signing for Waterford United. His father, Mick Gannon Mick Gannon (born 2 February 1947 in Dublin) was an Irish football player in the 1970s who played for Shelbourne and for Shamrock Rovers. Mick Gannon
Mick Gannon (born 2 February 1947 in Dublin) was an Irish football player in the 1970s who played for Shelbourne and for Shamrock Rovers. Gannon was a diminutive but tenacious right-back who enjoyed a long and successful career in the League of Ireland. A skilful attacker, Gannon was on occasion used in midfield, though it was in the number two shirt that he made his international debut, in Liam Tuohy's first game as manager of the Irish national team against Austria in Linz in October 1971. He signed for the Milltown club in November 1977 from Shels, where he had lost 2 FAI Cup Finals, and in his first season he won the FAI Cup. He went to make 4 appearances in European competition for the Hoops and was in the side that played in the first ever European tie at Milltown. He returned to Shels in January 1981, where he ended his league career. His uncle Eddie Gannon also played for his country and his son Karl Gannon played for Rovers in the 1990s. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. Waterford United
Waterford Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Phort Láirge) formerly Waterford United Football Club is an Irish association football club based in Waterford who play in the League of Ireland First Division. The club was founded and elected to the league in 1930. Originally the club was based at the greyhound stadium known as Kilcohan Park, but has now moved to the Waterford Regional Sports Centre. In 2018 the club and its players became fully professional.
