Karl Eric Holm
Lieutenant General Karl Eric Holm (3 June 1919 – 27 July 2016) was a Swedish Army officer. His senior commands include Chief of the Army Staff and the General Staff Corps (1968–1972), military commander of the Southern Military District (1972–1980) and the Chief of Home Guard (1981–1983). Early life Holm was born on 3 June 1919 in Falköping, Sweden, the son of Carl Holm, a station master, and his wife Olga (née Södergren). He passed ''studentexamen'' in Skövde in 1937 and then served in the Swedish Volunteer Corps during the Winter War in Finland from 1939 to 1940. Career Holm was commissioned as an officer in the Swedish Army Service Troops in 1941 with the rank of ''fänrik'' in the Norrland Logistic Corps (T 3) in Sollefteå. Falköping
Falköping is a locality and the seat of Falköping Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 16,350 inhabitants in 2010. History The town of Falköping was first spoken of in the Icelandic ''Rimbegla'' (around 1100 A.D.), and is mentioned in the Westrogothic law. The Norrland Logistic Battalion ( sv, Norrlands trängbataljon, Trängbat/I 5), previously Norrland Logistic Corps ( sv, Norrlands trängkår, T 3) was a Swedish Army logistic unit operating between 1893 and 2004. The unit was first based in Stockholm, then for over 100 years in Sollefteå and finally in Östersund. History The unit was raised 1893 as a battalion and förlades till Stockholm. Boden (, outdatedly ) is a locality and the seat of Boden Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden with 16,847 inhabitants in 2018. It is part of the larger area around coastal city Luleå some southeast. After Kiruna, it is the second largest town in Northern Sweden's interior. Life Regiment Grenadiers ( sv, Livregementets grenadjärer), also I 3, was a Swedish Army infantry unit that was active in various forms 1815–2000. The unit was based in Örebro Garrison in Örebro and belonged to the King's Life and Household Troops (''Kungl. Maj:ts Liv- och Hustrupper'') until 1974. Älvsborg Regiment
The Älvsborg Regiment ( sv, Älvsborgs regemente), designation I 15 and I 15/Fo 34, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that traces its origins back 1624. It was disbanded in 1998. The regiment's soldiers were originally recruited from the provinces of Västergötland, and it was later garrisoned there in the town Borås. Heraldry and traditions Colours, standards and guidons The regiment has carried a number of colours over the years. On 24 June 1854, the then crown prince, later King Charles XV presented the last battalion colours to the regiment. They were so called Oscar I type, and were presented at a summit on Axevalla heath.
