Karl Dempwolf
Karl Dempwolf is a contemporary California Plein-Air Painter who is known for his California Landscapes. He is a Signature Member of the California Art Club (f. 1909), and serves in its Advisory Board of Directors. Youth and Training Karl Dempwolf was born in Delmenhorst, Germany. As a child, he spent the war years in Bavaria - a picture-perfect countryside with pristine natural surroundings: sparkling lakes, national parks and nature reserves, mist-enshrouded forests, sun-drenched vineyards, dramatic hills and, of course, the majestic Alps - where he developed his love for nature. In 1954, at the age fourteen, he and his family immigrated to the United States aboard the S.S. America, at the request of the Lockheed Corporation, where his father was to serve as an aerospace engineer. Delmenhorst
Delmenhorst (; Northern Low Saxon: ''Demost'') is an urban district ('' Kreisfreie Stadt'') in Lower Saxony, Germany. It has a population of 74,500 and is located west of downtown Bremen with which it forms a contiguous urban area, whereas the city of Oldenburg is to the northwest. The city has a total area of ; and a population density of approx. 1200 inhabitants per km². Since 2021 the mayor has been Petra Gerlach (CDU). History Delmenhorst was first mentioned in a charter in 1254, after the Count of Oldenburg, Otto I, bought the place near the river Delme in 1234. A castle to protect the newly founded settlement was established in about 1247. Modernism
Modernism is both a philosophy, philosophical and arts movement that arose from broad transformations in Western world, Western society during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
