Karin Ekelund
Karin Ekelund (26 May 1913 – 21 December 1976) was a Swedish actress. She appeared in 29 films between 1933 and 1976. She was the first female radio producer in Sweden, producing, and later directing, for Sveriges Radio's Radio Theatre. She performed in mainly comedic films, although she did have a few serious roles to her name. She was one of the most famous actresses of her time and often drew large crowds of fans. Biography Karin Ekelund was born in Ystad, Scania, Sweden, in 1913, the daughter of professor Sam Ekelund and Anna Lindström. She graduated from Palmgrenska samskolan at 17. Ekelund studied at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy from 1930 to 1933, after which she acted in both theatre and film. She worked at Vasateatern from 1934 to 1936, Oscarsteatern from 1938 to 1939 and the Malmö City Theatre from 1944. Ystad
Ystad (; older da, Ysted) is a town and the seat of Ystad Municipality, in Scania County, Sweden. Ystad had 18,350 inhabitants in 2010. The settlement dates from the 11th century and has become a busy ferryport, local administrative centre, and tourist attraction. Hasse Ekman (born Hans Gösta Ekman; 10September 191515February 2004) was a Swedish director, actor, writer and Film producer, producer for film director, film, Theatre director, stage and television director, television. Biography Hasse Ekman is probably Sweden's most successful and critically acclaimed film director from the period after Victor Sjöström, Sjöström and Mauritz Stiller, Stiller and prior to Ingmar Bergman, peaking between the mid-1940s and 1950. He was greatly influenced by filmmaker Orson Welles and also by episodic-films. His most successful film as a director is often said to be the 1950 film ''Flicka och hyacinter'' (Girl with Hyacinths), a crime/mystery drama about a young woman committing suicide by hanging herself in her apartment. It is based on Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's 1857 novel '' Synnøve Solbakken''. The film was shot at Irefilm's studios in Stockholm, and the outdoor scenes were shot in Vågå.
