Karen Knotts
Karen Knotts (born 1954 or 1955) is an American actress and stand-up comedian, and daughter of Don Knotts. During her childhood and teen years, Knotts says she and her father often "butted heads" over her desire to enter show business: "I always wanted to be an actress, even when I was young, but he said, 'No, that's not a good life for a child." She went on to say that he supported her "100 percent in the end". She studied at Beverly Hills High School, followed by USC School of Cinematic Arts. Knotts works as a stand-up comic and SAG/AFTRA actor. Her one-woman show, "Tied Up in Knotts", is the story of growing up with her comedian father. It was directed by Andersen Gabrych. She performed it at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2008. She also performs standup comedy on the road. Don Knotts
Jesse Donald Knotts (July 21, 1924February 24, 2006) was an American actor and comedian. He is widely known for his role as Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife on ''The Andy Griffith Show'', a 1960s sitcom for which he earned five Emmy Awards. He also played Ralph Furley on the highly rated sitcom ''Three's Company'' from 1979 to 1984. He starred in multiple comedic films, including the leading roles in ''The Ghost and Mr. Chicken'' (1966) and ''The Incredible Mr. Limpet'' (1964). In 2004, ''TV Guide'' ranked him number 27 on its 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time list. Knotts was born in West Virginia, the youngest of four children. In the 1940s, before earning a college degree, he served in the United States Army and in World War II. While enlisted, he chose to become a ventriloquist and comedian as part of a G.I. variety show called "Stars and Gripes". ''Vice Academy'' was a series of six comedy films, which aired on the USA Network throughout the 1990s, particularly on their ''Up All Night'' programming block. Created by director Rick Sloane of ''Hobgoblins'' fame, the cast included former porn star Ginger Lynn, scream queen Linnea Quigley, Elizabeth Kaitan and Julia Parton.
