Karan Bhatia
Karan Krishna Bhatia is an American attorney and former senior official in the Bush administration. He currently leads public policy and government relations for Google. He served as the deputy U.S. Trade Representative from 2005 to 2007, credited with leading the negotiation of the United States–Korea Free Trade Agreement. Additional appointments include Assistant Secretary of Transportation for Aviation and International Affairs where he served from 2003 to 2005 and deputy under secretary of commerce for industry and security from 2001 to 2003. He served a total of six years in the Bush Administration before returning to the private sector in 2008 to lead government affairs for General Electric. Milton Pollack
Milton Pollack (September 29, 1906 – August 13, 2004) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Education and career Born in New York City, New York, Pollack received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in 1927. He received a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School in 1929. He was in private practice of law in New York City from 1929 to 1967. Federal judicial service Pollack was nominated by President Lyndon B. Johnson on May 24, 1967, to a seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York vacated by Judge Wilfred Feinberg. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 12, 1967, and received his commission the same day. He assumed senior status on September 29, 1983. Civil Aviation Administration Of China
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC; ) is the Chinese civil aviation authority under the Ministry of Transport. It oversees civil aviation and investigates aviation accidents and incidents. Air Route Authority Between The United States And China
There are bilateral treaties that govern aviation rights between the United States and China, which cover both passenger services and cargo services. The United States has liberal aviation agreements with many countries but not China, South Africa, and some South American countries. However, there is no "open skies" agreement between China and the US, which generally refers to an agreement that allows unrestricted flights between countries. The current US-China treaty specifies the number of flights permitted. Due to the highly regulated nature of awards for route authority between the two countries and the strict limits on number of flights, the application process is competitive. US airlines have sought to gain support from local politicians and the general public to influence the US government into awarding routes. Norman Yoshio Mineta ( ja, 峯田 良雄, November 12, 1931 – May 3, 2022) was an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, Mineta served in the United States Cabinet for Presidents Bill Clinton, a Democrat, and George W. Bush, a Republican.
