Eftychia Karagianni ( el, Ευτυχία Καραγιάννη, born 10 October 1973) is a female Greek water polo player and Olympic silver medalist with the Greece women's national water polo team. She received a silver medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in 2004 Athens. She received a gold medal with the Greece women's national water polo team at the 2005 FINA Women's Water Polo World League in Kirishi, where she scored 19 goals. Georgios Karayiannis
Georgios Karayiannis was an officer of the Greek Army. Having retired with the rank of General, he was approached on 18 April 1964 by his former colleague General George Grivas and offered the leadership of the newly formed Greek Cypriot Cypriot National Guard, which post Karayiannis accepted. From April to August 1964 Karayiannis commanded and organised the Cypriot National Guard, whose stated mission was to defend the island against possible Turkish military invasion, and to counter the paramilitary forces of the Turkish Cypriot group known as Turkish Resistance Organization or TMT. Grivas arrived in Cyprus himself on 10 June 1964 and used the popularity he gained in Cyprus and Greece during the EOKA era to coerce the governments of Greece and Cyprus into appointing him supreme military commander of Cyprus. Herbert von Karajan (; born Heribert Ritter von Karajan; 5 April 1908 – 16 July 1989) was an Austrian conductor. He was principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic for 34 years. During the Nazi era, he debuted at the Salzburg Festival, with the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and during the Second World War he conducted at the Berlin State Opera. Maurine Karagianis (born August 17, 1950) is a Canadian politician, formerly the New Democratic Party MLA for the riding of Esquimalt-Royal Roads in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. She was first elected in the 2005 election to the constituency of Esquimalt-Metchosin, garnering almost 50 percent of votes cast and 2,895 more votes than the next closest candidate. Vaios Karagiannis ( el, Βάιος Καραγιάννης; born 25 June 1968) is a former Greek professional footballer who played as a defender and current manager. Club career Karagiannis started from Enippea Iteas Karditsa and then went to A.O. Karditsa, where he played until the summer of 1990. That summer, AEK Athens acquired him as a completely unknown young footballer at the time. However, Dušan Bajević immediately gave opportunities to the young defender, placing him mainly on the left side of the defense.
