A Turkish name consists of an ''ad'' or an ''isim'' (given name; plural ''adlar'' and ''isimler'') and a ''soyadı'' or ''soyisim'' (surname). Turkish names exist in a "full name" format. Jem Paul Karacan (born 21 February 1989) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Northern Premier League club Radcliffe. Prior to his move to Bolton he played for Turkish club Galatasaray and Reading, as well as various loan spells. He has played internationally for the Turkish youth team, and has captained the U-21 side. Early life Karacan was born in Catford, London to a Turkish father and an English mother.
