Kapow Records is a record label that was founded in 2000 in Orange County, California. It later relocated to Los Angeles in early 2005. Toshi Yano
Toshi Yano is an American rock musician, playing bass and keyboard. He was a founding member of the Washington, D.C., hardcore band Battery, the New York hardcore band Violent Bullshit, and of Kapow!, a Brooklyn-based band. Yano also worked as a recording and mixing engineer. Yano was a touring member of The Fiery Furnaces from 2003–2005, playing bass and keyboards on world tours with the band. During that period, Yano was also a temporary bass player for Franz Ferdinand. Kapow! was a 7-piece band, fronted by Yano, which included Tris McCall on keyboards, and The Negatones frontmen Jay and Justin Braun. In 2005, the ''New York Times'' wrote that Kapow! was "old-fashioned, but frequently irresistible", featuring the "vocal harmonies and garage-rock riffs" characteristic of late-1960s pop music. Teletoon
Teletoon (stylized as TELETOON) is a Canadian English-language specialty channel owned by Teletoon Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment. Its name is a portmanteau of "television" and " cartoon". The channel primarily broadcasts animated series aimed at children and teenagers. It was launched on October 17, 1997 by a consortium of Western International Communications, Astral Media, Shaw Communications, Cinar and Nelvana. Later on, Astral Media acquired WIC's shares of Teletoon in 2000 while Shaw spun off its media assets to form Corus Entertainment who acquired Nelvana that same year. Corus became the sole owner of Teletoon in 2013 following Bell Media's acquisition of Astral Media. From that point on, Teletoon airs some its selected original programming alongside imported programming from U.S.-based Cartoon Network, who Teletoon would later launch its own version many years later. Happy Tree Friends
''Happy Tree Friends'' is an American adult animated web series created by Aubrey Ankrum, Rhode Montijo, and Kenn Navarro, and developed by Montijo, Navarro, and Jeremy Viet Duong for Mondo Media. The show had achieved a cult following on Mondo Media, G4 and YouTube. Montijo, Navarro, Graff, Ankrum serving as showrunners. Being an adult show disguised as a children's show, the series features cartoon anthropomorphic forest animals. Every episode starts out peacefully with the animals living life as normal, but a sudden event unintentionally (sometimes intentionally) caused by another animal leads to many of the characters being subjected to very extreme and cruel graphic violence. Each episode revolves around the characters enduring accidental or deliberately inflicted pain, murder or mutilation.
