As of 24 March 2022, there are 344 municipalities ( nl, gemeenten) and three special municipalities () in the Netherlands. The latter is the status of three of the six island territories that make up the Dutch Caribbean. Schore, Netherlands
Schore is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is located in the municipality of Kapelle, about 8 km southwest of Goes. The village was first mentioned in 1253 as Dodinus de Scoren, and means "land on water". Schore is a circular church village. Schore was founded after 1150 when a dike was built around Zuid-Beveland. The village was flooded and destroyed in 1248. It was later rebuilt as a small agricultural community. Schore was home to 261 people in 1840. The old centre was destroyed in 1940 by war, and redesigned by Jordanus Roodenburgh. The Dutch Reformed church is an aisleless church was a narrow needle spire which was completed in 1942. John Karelse
John Karelse (born 17 May 1970 in Wemeldinge) is a retired Dutch football goalkeeper and unemployed manager after being fired by NAC Breda. He played for AGOVV Apeldoorn in his native country for a few years before moving to NAC Breda. It was here that he caught the attention of then Newcastle United manager Ruud Gullit, who signed him for an undisclosed fee (thought to be in the region of £800,000) in August 1999. His time at Newcastle was largely unsuccessful, as he endured a terrible start to his career at the club, losing 4-2 to Southampton on his debut. Jo De Roo
Johan De Roo (born 5 July 1937) is a Dutch former professional road racing cyclist between 1958 and 1968. During 11 seasons as a professional he had six victories in single-day classics, three stages of the Tour de France and one stage of the Vuelta a España. He had 46 wins as a professional. He was the most successful rider from Zeeland until the emergence of Jan Raas. Career details De Roo caught the eye in 1957 as a 20-year-old amateur when he took two stages in the Olympia’s Tour as well as winning the Omloop van de Kempen. The following year he turned professional with the Dutch Magneet-Vredestein team, with which he stayed for two seasons. In 1960 he moved to the Helyett, which had Jacques Anquetil as leader. The 1924 Summer Olympics (french: Jeux olympiques d'été de 1924), officially the Games of the VIII Olympiad (french: Jeux de la VIIIe olympiade) and also known as Paris 1924, were an international multi-sport event held in Paris, France. The opening ceremony was held on 5 July, but some competitions had already started on 4 May. The Games were the second to be hosted by Paris (after 1900), making it the first city to host the Olympics twice.
