Kanteerava Studios
Kanteerava Studios which was planned and allotted for the development of Kannada Films providing world class facilities. Rajkumar and his son Puneeth Rajkumar, popular actors in Kannada cinema, are buried within the studio grounds. History In 1966 the Kanteerava Studio was launched as a joint stock company on of land. The studio was started with the Government of Karnataka holding 93 per cent of the share capital and the remaining 7 per cent by private shareholders. Over the several decades, the studio suffered losses, as new generation of film-makers and new techniques took over the industry. In 2005, the State Government initiated a proposal to revive the studio by leashing in private firms for the maintenance. Puneeth Rajkumar
Puneeth Rajkumar (17 March 1975 – 29 October 2021), colloquially known as Appu, was an Indian actor, playback singer, television presenter, and producer, who worked in Kannada cinema. He was the youngest son of actor and matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar, He was one of the most popular actors in Kannada cinema. He was the lead in 30 films; as a child, he appeared in many films. His performances in '' Vasantha Geetha'' (1980), '' Bhagyavantha'' (1981), ''Chalisuva Modagalu'' (1982), '' Eradu Nakshatragalu'' (1983), '' Bhakta Prahaladha'', ''Yarivanu'' and ''Bettada Hoovu'' (1985) were praised. Sree Kanteerava Stadium
Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium, also known as Sampangi Outdoor Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Bangalore, India. It houses a running track, a volleyball court, and two outdoor rock climbing walls. The stadium is owned by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka. It is the largest sporting complex in Bangalore. Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka.
