Kansbahal Dam
Kansbahal is a modern industrial town situated in the state of Odisha India. It lies on the State Highway #10 about 25 km from Rourkela main city; and on the main railway route between Howrah (Kolkata) and CST/Kurla (Mumbai). Kansbahal comes under the jurisdiction of Rourkela Municipal Corporation. History Kansbahal remained a rather unknown tribal village and forested area in the Sundargarh district of Odisha until its emergence into prominence with the establishment of "Utkal Machinery Limited" (UTMAL), a heavy engineering company, mainly serving the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). Mandiakudar
Mandikudar is a small village situated near the outskirts of steel township Rourkela. Its jurisdiction is entitled to town of Kansbahal. Mandiakudar got its name from a staple crop named "Mandia" which was cultivated by poor people in that area. The village is about one kilometer away from Kansbahal situated in between State Highways SH 24 and SH 10. Mandiakudar gained popularity because of the proximity of engineering colleges residing in the area. The Tatanagar–Bilaspur section is part of the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line and connects in the Indian state of Jharkhand and in Chhattisgarh.
