Kansas City Greyhounds
The Kansas City Greyhounds were a professional ice hockey team. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, they operated within the American Hockey Association (AHA) under various names from 1927 to 1942. The franchise was a reiteration of the Chicago Cardinals, which played in the AHA in the 1926–27 season. After a dispute between the owner of the Cardinals and the National Hockey League (NHL), the Cardinals folded. The NHL's Chicago Black Hawks owned the contracts of a number of the Cardinal players, and started a new AHA franchise in Kansas City. The Kansas City Pla-Mors operated from 1927 to 1933, changed its name to the Greyhoundsits longest used namefrom 1933 to 1940, then was renamed the Kansas City Americans from 1940 to 1942, after which the team folded. Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. Ralph Frederick "Bouncer" Taylor (October 2, 1905 – July 3, 1976) was a professional ice hockey player who played for 13 seasons. He played for the Chicago Black Hawks and the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League. He coached the St. Louis Flyers in the American Hockey League. Ralph Taylor began his professional career in 1926 with Eddie Livingstone's Chicago Cardinals of the American Hockey Association (AHA). Nickolas Waesne (January 28, 1903 – May 26, 1991), better known as Nick Wasnie, was a Canadian ice hockey right winger who played seven seasons in the National Hockey League for the Chicago Black Hawks, Montreal Canadiens, New York Americans, Ottawa Senators and St. Louis Eagles between 1927 and 1935. He won the Stanley Cup twice with the Montreal Canadiens in 1930 and 1931. After his NHL career Wasnie spent several years in various minor leagues, retiring from playing in 1940. Edward Webster Bush (July 11, 1918 — May 31, 1984) was a Canadian ice hockey defenceman and coach. He played 26 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Detroit Red Wings between 1939 and 1942. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1938 to 1951, was spent in various minor leagues. He later became a coach, spending several years in the junior Ontario Hockey Association, finishing by coaching the Kansas City Scouts of the NHL for 32 games during their second and final season in 1975–76. Career Bush began his career by playing junior hockey in Guelph, Ontario. He then became a hockey vagabond, playing on fourteen separate squads over thirteen years as a professional. Melville Keeling
Melville Sydney "Butch" Keeling (August 10, 1905 – November 12, 1984) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. A left winger, he played 12 National Hockey League seasons with the Toronto St. Patricks/Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Rangers between 1926 and 1938. Playing career Keeling was born in Owen Sound, Ontario and began his hockey career in his hometown, learning the game at Victoria Public School under the tutelage of principal Henry Kelso, for whom Owen Sound's Kelso Beach was named. Several Victoria students, including Keeling, eventually ended up playing for the city's junior club, the Owen Sound Greys. He was a key member of the Greys when they captured their first Memorial Cup as Canadian junior hockey champions in 1924, scoring 37 goals and 46 points in 15 playoff games.
