is a news agency in Japan. History Jiji was formed in November 1945 following the breakup of Domei Tsushin, the government-controlled news service responsible for disseminating information prior to and during World War II. Jiji inherited Domei's business-oriented news operations, while Kyodo News inherited its general public-oriented news operations. In later years Jiji developed ties with UPI, the Associated Press, AFP, Reuters and other international news organizations. In 2011, Jiji reported that Olympus CEO Michael Woodford blackmailed company management into appointing him CEO in exchange for promises to cover up an accounting fraud scandal. Woodford argued that "the so-called unnamed sources at Olympus had clearly lied, ndJiji had without proper scrutiny and challenge simply reported those lies." Television Nishinippon Corporation
is a Japanese TV station affiliated with Fuji News Network (FNN) and Fuji Network System (FNS) in Fukuoka. This station serves Fukuoka Prefecture and also acts as the default FNN affiliate for western portions of Yamaguchi Prefecture including Yamaguchi City and Shimonoseki, as Yamaguchi Prefecture does not have an FNN affiliate of its own. History JOHX-TV was originally established as an affiliate of Nippon News Network (NNN) and Nippon Television Network System (NNS) in Yahata (Yahata Higashi-ku, Kitakyūshū) in August 1958, airing on VHF channel 9; a station in Fukuoka was established in February 1962 as JOJY-TV. They changed affiliation from NNN and NNS to FNN and FNS in October 1964. Kyushu Asahi Broadcasting
is a broadcasting station in Fukuoka, Japan, and it is affiliated with National Radio Network (NRN) on radio and All-Nippon News Network (ANN) on TV. With its relay transmitters in Saga, KBC functions as the default ANN affiliate for the said prefecture, as that area doesn't have an ANN affiliate of its own.
