This is a list of professional Go tournaments, for competitors in the board game of ''Go''. The tradition, initiated by the Honinbo Tournament in Japan, is for an event to be run annually, leading up to a title match and the award of a title for one year to the winner. Tournaments do not consist, generally, of players coming together in one place for a short period, but are spread out over time. Murakawa Daisuke
is a professional Go player. Biography Murakawa was still just a 6th grader when he became a professional Go player at the Kansai Ki-in. He was only one month older than Iyama Yuta, making him the second youngest professional in Japan. This also made him the youngest Kansai Ki-in professional, edging out Yuki Satoshi by a small margin. Murakawa is the youngest ever tsumego (life and death) problem creator and number created. Sakai Hideyuki
is a professional Go player. Biography Before becoming a professional, Sakai was majoring in medical science at Kyoto University. For a long time, Sakai was the strongest amateur player in Japan, and when he won the World Amateur Go Championship in 2000, the Kansai Ki-in awarded him professional 5 dan (after defeating two 5 dan and two 7 dan players). He was also the first player in Japan to be awarded a special 8 dan (amateur) diploma. In 2003, he won the biggest Kansai Ki-in tournament, the Kansai Ki-in Championship. Yuki Satoshi
is a Japanese professional Go player. Biography Yuki won the NHK Cup in 2010 for the second time in a row, becoming the third player after Eio Sakata and Norimoto Yoda to do such. He was selected as a representative of the Japanese team at the 16th Asian Games. In 2010, Yuki reached the final of the 22nd Asian TV Cup. He defeated Chen Yaoye in the first round and followed it by forcing Kang Dongyun into resignation. Yuki then lost to Kong Jie in the final by resignation. Yuki has represented Japan on the international stage and has beaten several players including Cho Hunhyun, Chang Hao, Gu Li, Lee Sedol and Ma Xiaochun.
