Kano (band)
Kano was an Italo disco music project formed in Milan, Italy in 1979 by producers/musicians Luciano Ninzatti, Stefano Pulga and Matteo Bonsanto. History Kano's debut single was the 1980 international hit "I'm Ready", combining elements of 1970s disco, funk and R&B while extensively using synthesizers and percussive handclaps as well as raw-processed and vocoderized vocals. Kano's self-titled debut album also included "It's a War", "Ahjia", "Now Baby Now" and the instrumental track "Cosmic Voyager". "I'm Ready" peaked at No. 21 on the U.S. Black Singles chart, while "It's a War" and "Ahjia" were also hits on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the U.S., reaching No. 2 for five weeks. Grime (music Genre)
Grime is a genre of electronic music that emerged in London in the early 2000s. It developed out of the earlier UK dance style UK garage, and draws influences from jungle, dancehall, and hip hop. The style is typified by rapid, syncopated breakbeats, generally around 140 beats per minute, and often features an aggressive or jagged electronic sound. Emceeing is a significant element of the style, and lyrics often revolve around gritty depictions of urban life. The style initially spread among pirate radio stations and underground scenes before achieving some mainstream recognition in the UK during the mid-2000s through artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Lethal Bizzle, and Wiley. Reaching Out (Nero Song)
Reaching Out is a song by UK electronic trio Nero from their debut album '' Welcome Reality''. It was released as the sixth single from the album on 16 December 2011, peaking at number 92 on the UK Singles Chart and number nine on the UK Dance Chart. Creation Drafted out by Daniel Stephens, he had an original vision in his mind of sampling Daryl Hall's voice. The office next door to Nero's was occupied by the producer for Hall's latest solo album, ''Laughing Down Crying'', who agreed to put the pair in touch. Hall hence agreed to lay down a full original set of vocals, recorded by Nero. The track samples an arpeggio from 80's Italian dance group Kano's "Another Life", and features guest vocals from Daryl Hall from Hall & Oates. Teldec (Telefunken-Decca Schallplatten GmbH) is a German record label in Hamburg, Germany. Today the label is a property of Warner Music Group. History Teldec was a producer of (first) shellac and (later) vinyl records. The Teldec manufacturing facility was located in Nortorf near Kiel in Germany. The company was founded in 1950 as a co-operation between Telefunken and Decca Records. The name Teldec is the result of taking the first three letters of both labels: Telefunken and Decca. Records manufactured by Teldec mostly were released under the Telefunken or Decca label, but normally these records contained no hint that they were made by Teldec. In 1983, Telefunken and Decca pulled out of Teldec and in 1987 Teldec was sold to Time Warner. The album entered the ''Billboard'' 200 and Top R&B Albums charts in 1982. In 2009 the British label, Funky Town Grooves, released the album in a limited edition for the first time on CD with an extended version of "Can't Hold Back (Your Loving)" as a bonus track. The album was taken from a vinyl LP not the master-tapes.
