Kankai Municipality is a municipality in Jhapa District of eastern Nepal. This municipality is formed merging two village development committees i.e. Ghailadubba and Surunga in May 2014. Zones Of Nepal
Until the establishment of seven new provinces in 2015, Nepal was divided into 14 administrative zones ( Nepali: अञ्चल; ''anchal'') and 77 districts ( Nepali: जिल्ला; ''jillā''). Ghailadubba is a small town and ancient market place in Kankai Municipality in Jhapa District in the Province No. 1 of south-eastern Nepal. Jamunkhadi Simsar
The Jamunkhadi Simsar or Jamunkhadi Wetlands is a wetlands conservation project in the Kankai municipality of Jhapa District, in eastern Nepal. It was created to be developed as a tourist destination in Wards 2 and 5 of Surunga VDC (which are now the Dandagau area of Kankai), within the community forest. It lies about a kilometer away from the East-West Highway and occupies an area of about 10 hectares of the 25-hectare community forest. Originally, it included two ponds named after the rivers Ganga (Ganges) and Jamuna, but due to lack of protection, Ganga no longer exists and currently only Jamuna remains. Surunga
Surunga is a trade center of Jhapa District. It is located in Kankai Municipality in Jhapa District in the Province No. 1 of south-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 16,747 people living in 2996 individual households. Surunga is one of the rapidly developing towns of Jhapa district. Jhapa District
Jhapa ( ne, झापा जिल्ला; ) is a district of Province No. 1 in eastern Nepal named after a Rajbanshi word "Jhapa" meaning "to cover" (verb). The latest official data, the 2021 Nepal Census, puts the total population of the district at 994,090. The total area of the district is 1,606 square kilometres. Mechi Zone
Mechi ( ne, मेची अञ्चल ) was one of the fourteen zones of Nepal until the restructuring of zones to provinces, comprising four districts; namely Ilam, Jhapa, Panchthar and Taplejung.
