Konibodom (, fa, کان بادام; russian: Канибадам) is a city in the Sughd Region of northern Tajikistan, in western Fergana Valley. It has a population of 52,500 (2020 est.). Geography Climate Konibodom has a hot, dry-summer Humid continental climate, continental climate (Köppen climate classification ''Dsa''). The average annual temperature is 14 °C (57.2 °F). The warmest month is July with an average temperature of 27.4 °C (81.3 °F) and the coolest month is January with an average temperature of −0.6 °C (30.9 °F). The average annual precipitation is 465.5mm (18.3") and has an average of 68.9 days with precipitation. The wettest month is March with an average of 77.7mm (3.1") of precipitation and the driest month is August with an average of 1.9mm (0.08") of precipitation. Mukarrama Qosimova
Mukarrama Nabievna Qosimova (16 January 1933 – 2 October 2020) was a Tajikistani linguist and academic. Biography Born into a family of workers in Konibodom, Qosimova graduated from the Department of History and Philology at Tajikistan State University in 1955; the following year she joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. She spent her entire career at her alma mater; from 1959 to 1966 she was a teacher, senior instructor, assistant professor, and professor at the institution. Between 1966 and 1968 she was dean of the Faculty of Philology; she held the post again from 1974 to 1977. She received a doctorate in linguistics in 1981, and became a professor in 1982; in 1986 she became head of the Department of the Tajik Language. This post she held until 1995, when she became Head of the Department of Language and Typography, a post which she held until 2003. The title Hero of the Soviet Union (russian: Герой Советского Союза, translit=Geroy Sovietskogo Soyuza) was the highest distinction in the Soviet Union, awarded together with the Order of Lenin personally or collectively for heroic feats in service to the Soviet state and society. Overview The award was established on 16 April 1934, by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. The first recipients of the title originally received only the Order of Lenin, the highest Soviet award, along with a certificate (грамота, ''gramota'') describing the heroic deed from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Lutfi Zohidova
Lutfi Zohidova ( tg, Лутфи Зоҳидова; 6 November 1925 10 October 1995) was a Soviet and Tajik ballet dancer. Biography Zohidova was born in Konibodom, and became a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1957. She studied at the Dushanbe Women's Pedagogical Institute, and from 1939 until 1941 was a member of the Union of Workers Ensemble in Moscow; in the latter year she was accepted as a member of the Tajik Ballet. Her debut with the company came in ''La fille mal gardée'' by Peter Ludwig Hertel, and she performed as a soloist at the theater throughout the 1940s and 1950s. Sa'diniso Hakimova
Sa'diniso Hafizovna Hakimova (sometimes known as Sofia or Safia Hakimova) (December 20, 1924 – October 12, 2015) was a Tajikistani obstetrician and gynecologist. Hakimova was born in the village of Puledon in Konibodom. In 1943 she graduated from the Tajikistan State Medical Institute, two years later becoming a USSR Distinguished Contributor to Health. For the following year she served as an intern in the regional hospitals of Kulab and Qurghonteppa. In 1946 she began the study of obstetrics and gynecology at the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences in Moscow; in 1950 she defended her thesis, and in 1953 she joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. She received her medical degree in 1958, in which year she became leader of a health division in Qurghonteppa.
