Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen
Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen, also known as Kangoeroes or Kangoeroes Mechelen, is a basketball club based in Mechelen, Belgium. Founded in 2009, the club plays in the BNXT League. Kangoeroes have been playing in the top tier division in Belgium for years, since 2013. Previously, the team played in Boom and Willebroek. In 2018, the club moved to Mechelen. History The club was founded in 2009, as a result of a merger between BBC Kangoeroes Willebroek and Boom BBC. The team name was BBC Kangoeroes Boom, but in summer 2013 the team was renamed Kangoeroes Basket Willebroek. In the 2013–14 season, Kangoeroes entered the professional first tier Ethias League. The Kangoeroes received a C-licence from the Belgium Basketball Federation. This license allowed the team to play with a considerably lower budget than other teams. BNXT League
The BNXT League, for sponsorship reasons the betFirst BNXT League, is a professional basketball league in Belgium and the Netherlands. The league is the first tier in both the Dutch and Belgian system, replacing the Dutch Basketball League, DBL and Pro Basketball League, PBL. The inaugural season was the 2021–22 BNXT League, 2021–22 season, which started in September 2021. The BNXT League plays national playoffs as well as a cross-border playoffs to determine a Dutch champion, Belgian champion and BNXT champion. Domien Loubry (born 3 March 1985) is a Belgian professional basketball player for Kangoeroes Mechelen of the BNXT League. Loubry plays as point guard. Professional career On 3 March 2020, Loubry signed with Kangoeroes Mechelen for the 2020–21 season. In his first season with Mechelen, he averaged 11.7 points and 4.7 assists per game, while also leading his team to the final of the Belgian Basketball Cup for the first time. National team career In 2013, Loubry joined Brussels which was just promoted to the first level Pro Basketball League. Jito Kok (born 23 March 1994) is a Dutch professional basketball player who plays for Heroes Den Bosch of the BNXT League. Standing at 206 cm (6 ft 9 in), Kok plays as center. He also plays for the Netherlands national team. Professional career On 14 June 2016, Kok signed a one-year deal with Lavrio B.C. of the Greek Basket League. Mohamed Kherrazi
Mohamed Kherrazi (born 29 June 1990) is a Dutch-Moroccan professional basketball player who plays for Leuven Bears of the BNXT League. He is also a member of the Dutch national basketball team. Eduardo Hernández-Sonseca Lorenzo (born 21 June 1983) is a Spanish professional basketball player who plays for Basket Navarra of the LEB Plata. 2020–21 Pro Basketball League
The 2020–21 Pro Basketball League (PBL) was the 94th season of the Pro Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Belgium. The regular season was supposed to start in September 2020 but was delayed to 2 October 2020 due to new coronavirus restrictions. It is the last season as the PBL, as in the following season the multinational BNXT League commences. It will be the first season after the 2019–20 season was ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2019–20 Pro Basketball League
The 2019–20 Pro Basketball League, for sponsorship reasons the EuroMillions Basketball League, season was the 93rd season of the Pro Basketball League (PBL), first tier of basketball in Belgium. The season started on 13 September 2019 and was stopped abruptly in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 13 March 2020, the Belgian Basketball Association decided, in agreement with all participating clubs, to end the season rather than assume the postponed matches could still be played, taking the current standings as final. The 2018–19 Pro Basketball League, for sponsorship reasons the EuroMillions Basketball League, season was the 92nd season of the Pro Basketball League (PBL), first tier of basketball in Belgium. The season started on 5 October 2018 and ended 13 June 2019. Filou Oostende captured its eight consecutive league title after defeating Antwerp Giants in the playoff finals. 2017–18 Belgian Basketball Cup
The 2017–18 Belgian Basketball Cup ( nl, 2017–18 Beker van België) was the 64th edition of the national cup competition for men's basketball in Belgium. The season started on 26 September 2017 and ended on 11 March 2018 with the final. Oostende won its sixth straight cup title. Format Teams from the Basketball League Belgium Division I, the Top Division 1 and Top Division 2 (the first three divisions in Belgian basketball) compete in the competition. In the first round teams from the Top Division I and 2 play in 12 groups. From the second round, teams from the BLB Division I enter the competition. In the second round, the quarter- and semi-finals a double legged format is used. When a Division I team faces off against a team from a lower league, no second leg is played.
