Jeanne Steele Kangas (August 1940 – January 10, 2023) was an American lawyer and political figure. She was the interim Chair of the Massachusetts Republican Party in 2011 and the first woman elected to the Board of Selectmen in Boxborough, Massachusetts. Early life and education Kangas was born in 1940 to Avery Walker Steele and Anne Louise Kirby Steele Atwood. She had a twin sister, Joanne, and two other sisters and a brother. She graduated from Simmons College in 1975 and Suffolk University Law School in 1983. She entered private practice with the firm Arnold & Kangas centered on family law where she worked until 2017. She married Waino Kangas in 1960 and the couple had four children. Ilmi Orvokki Kangas ( Koski; 25 September 1921 – 18 July 2000) was a Finnish politician. She represented Vaasa in the Parliament of Finland from 1970 to 1983 as a member of the Centre Party. From September 1976 to May 1977, she was Finland's second minister of social affairs and health, appointed by Prime Minister Martti Miettunen. Biography Ilmi Orvokki Koski was born on 25 September 1921 in Lohtaja, Finland. Both of her parents were farmers. After briefly studying at the Finnish Youth Institute, a folk high school, she dropped out of school to work at youth associations in Central Ostrobothnia from 1939 to 1943. Paul Henry Kangas (April 14, 1937 – February 28, 2017) was the Miami-based co-anchor of the PBS television program '' Nightly Business Report'', a role he held from 1979, when the show was a local PBS program in Miami, through December 31, 2009.
