Kanji
are the logographic Chinese characters taken from the Chinese family of scripts, Chinese script and used in the writing of Japanese language, Japanese. They were made a major part of the Japanese writing system during the time of Old Japanese and are still used, along with the subsequently-derived syllabic scripts of ''hiragana'' and ''katakana''. Ichijō Kaneyoshi
, also known as Ichijō Kanera, was the son of regent Tsunetsugu. He was a '' kugyō'' or Japanese court noble of the Muromachi period (1336–1573). He held regent positions sesshō in 1432, and kampaku from 1447 to 1453 and from 1467 to 1470. Norifusa and Fuyuyoshi were his sons. One of his daughters, , married Takatsukasa Masahira. Before the Ōnin War, he "enjoyed universal respect for his scholarship, had a large and distinguished family, and owned perhaps the finest library of the time". Kaneyoshi fled to Nara, where his son was the abbot of the Kofuku-ji monastery. He remained there for ten years before returning to the capital. is a Japanese Mangaka, manga artist. Her debut short story, "" ( "Angel"), was published in the September 1995 issue of ''Bessatsu Shōjo Comic'' magazine and won the 36th Shogakukan Comic Award. Izumi also won the Shogakukan Manga Award in the Shōjo manga, (girls') manga category in 2006 for and in 2015 for . Kaneyoshi Kuwata
was a yakuza gang member, the fifth generation ''wakagashira'' of the Yamaguchi-gumi, was the third ''kumicho'' of the Yamaken-gumi yakuza gang, and second generation ''kaicho'' of Kenryu-kai. He was an Osaka graduate. In 1969, Kuwata was active in the Yamaguchi-gumi. In 1989, he climbed up to Yoshinori Watanabe's personal secretary, which within a year, he was promoted up to the head assistant. Kuwata was involved in a December 1997 assassination in Tokyo. Tokyo police found a handgun which had been dropped by one of Kuwata's subordinates after a drive-by shooting. He was charged with weapons possession in 1998, and was sentenced to 7 years in prison by the Tokyo District Court. Kaneyoshi Muto
was a Japanese naval aviator and flying ace known for his great skill in fighter aircraft. Fellow ace Saburō Sakai called him "a genius in the air." Second Sino-Japanese War Kaneyoshi Muto was born to a humble farming family in June 1916 in Aichi Prefecture. Muto grew to a height of —short in stature—and enlisted in the Imperial Japanese Navy in June 1935 when he was 19. After serving for a brief period aboard the destroyer ''Uranami'' he applied for flight training to advance his career. In July 1936 he graduated as a naval aviator and was assigned to the Omura Air Group. Muto went to war in China flying with the 12th Air Group. He earned his first air victory on 4 December 1937 during the Battle of Nanking when he shot down a Soviet-made Polikarpov I-16. Muto continued fighting in China, flying many sorties over Hankou to become an ace with five victories. For his distinguished service, he was honored with an official commendation on 30 April 1938. Prince Kaneyoshi
Prince Kaneyoshi (懐良親王, ''Kaneyoshi shinnō'' or ''Kanenaga shinnō''; born c. 1329 – 30 April 1383) was a nobleman of the Kamakura period and the early Nanboku-chō period where power in Japan was split between two rival factions. He was the son of Emperor Go-Daigo who was head of one of the factions (the Southern Court), the other being the Ashikaga shogunate. During his childhood, he saw the shogunate establishing its rule over the island. Later in the 1350s, a civil war occurred between the founder of the shogunate, Ashikaga Takauji and his son, Tadafuyu. When it ended, Kaneyoshi became an effective force of the Southern Court in opposition to the Ashikaga ''bakufu''. In 1336, Go-Daigo sent the prince, at seven years of age, to Kyushu as ''Chinzei Shogun'' (Commander-in-Chief of the Western Defense Area).
