Kanety Krishna Menon
Kanety Krishna Menon (1942 - 2012) was a Telugu writer with about 80 short stories and 6 novels to his credit. Many of his stories have been translated to different languages in India. Career K. K. Menon was employed with Accountant General's office in Hyderabad. He was born and brought up in Ramaraju Lanka, a remote village in East Godaveri district. He had his secondary education at Rajolu, graduation at Bhimavaram and attained a master's degree in Economics from Nagpur University. He started writing short stories when he was studying IX class. His teacher late Kandukuri Ramabhadra Rao, who was himself a well known writer encouraged him to write. His first story got him an award which inspired him to take up writing seriously. Sri Sri (writer)
Srirangam Srinivasa Rao (30 April 1910 – 15 June 1983), popularly known as Sri Sri, was an Indian poet and lyricist who is known for his works in Telugu literature and films. Noted for his anthology '' Maha Prasthanam'', Sri Sri is a recipient of a National Film Award, a Nandi Award and a Sahitya Akademi Award. He was a member of Pen India, Sahitya Academy, vice-president of the South Indian Film Writers Association, Madras and president of the Revolutionary Writers Association of Andhra. Atreya
Atreya (आत्रेय) Rishi, or Atreya Punarvasu, was a descendant of Atri, one of the great Hindu sages (rishis) whose accomplishments are detailed in the Puranas. Sage Atreya was a renowned scholar of Ayurveda and six schools of early Ayurveda was founded based on his teachings. He is credited as the writer of ''Bhela Samhita'', dating to a period of 6th century BCE. He is believed to have worked as the personal physician of King Nagnajita of Gandhara Kingdom, who finds mention in the Mahabharata. The original contents of Charakasamhita are credited to Atreya, which were in turn codified and edited by Agnivesha and Charaka. Gudipati Venkatachalam (1894–1979), popularly known as Chalam, was an Indian Telugu-language writer and philosopher. He was considered to be one of the most influential personalities in modern Telugu literature. Most of Chalam's work was regarding women, especially the kind of difficulties women encountered in the society, both physical and psychological. Chalam's work discussed how he believed women should face these problems. His writing had a distinctive style which would earn him an enviable place in the Telugu literary world. Kalipatnam Ramarao (9 November 1924 – 4 June 2021), known as Kara Master, was an Indian poet and writer known for his Telugu short stories. He won Sahitya Akademi Award in Telugu, 1995 for his short stories ''Yajnam To Tommidi''. Career Kalipatnam was born in 1924 in Murapaka, Srikakulam, India. He worked as a teacher for many years at St. Anthony's High School in Visakhapatnam and retired in 1979. Inspired by Kalipatnam Rama Rao, writer Yandamuri Veerendranath began his writing career. Sir Robert Edwards
Sir Robert Geoffrey Edwards (27 September 1925 – 10 April 2013) was a British physiologist and pioneer in reproductive medicine, and in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) in particular. Along with obstetrician and gynaecologist Patrick Steptoe and nurse Jean Purdy, Edwards successfully pioneered conception through IVF, which led to the birth of Louise Brown on 1978. Patrick Steptoe
Patrick Christopher Steptoe CBE FRS (9 June 1913 – 21 March 1988) was an English obstetrician and gynaecologist and a pioneer of fertility treatment. Steptoe was responsible with biologist and physiologist Robert Edwards and the nurse Jean Purdy for developing in vitro fertilisation. Louise Joy Brown, the first test-tube baby, was born on 25 July 1978. The Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PSTU) is one of the few Indian language universities in India. Parkinson's disease (PD), or simply Parkinson's, is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The symptoms usually emerge slowly, and as the disease worsens, non-motor symptoms become more common.
