Kane Linnett
Kane Linnett (born 11 January 1989) is a Scotland international rugby league footballer who plays as a or forward for Hull Kingston Rovers in the Super League. He has previously played for the Sydney Roosters and the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL. Linnett was a member of the Cowboys' 2015 NRL Premiership and 2016 World Club Challenge winning sides. Background Linnett was born in Shellharbour, New South Wales, Australia. He grew up in Barrack Heights, a suburb of Shellharbour. Shellharbour, New South Wales
Shellharbour (also known as Shellharbour Village) is a suburb located in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia. SG Ball Cup
The S. G. Ball Cup is a junior rugby league football competition played predominantly in New South Wales, between teams made up of players aged under 19. Teams from Canberra and Melbourne (Victoria Thunderbolts) also participate. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic in New South Wales teams from Perth (West Coast Pirates) and Auckland (New Zealand Warriors) also participated. The competition is administered by the New South Wales Rugby League. The Leeds Rhinos are a professional rugby league club in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. 2014 NRL Auckland Nines
The 2014 NRL Auckland Nines (known as the Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines due to sponsorship) was the first NRL Auckland Nines tournament, contested between all sixteen teams of the National Rugby League. The draw was released on 30 October 2014. It was a two-day, nine-a-side, knockout tournament held at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand. All sixteen NRL clubs and 256 players competed over the one weekend (February 15 – February 16) with AUD$2.25 million prize money split between the teams. The Parramatta Eels are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta that competes in the National Rugby League. The Parramatta District Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1947, and their home ground was Parramatta Stadium (formerly Cumberland Oval). 2010 NRL Grand Final
The 2010 NRL Grand Final was the conclusive and premiership-deciding game of the 2010 NRL season. Played on Sunday, 3 October at Sydney's ANZ Stadium, the match was contested by the St. George Illawarra Dragons and the Sydney Roosters. It was the first time the two sides met in a grand final. They had played each other twice before during the season, with St. George Illawarra winning on both occasions. St. George Illawarra finished the season as minor premiers as they had the previous season. The Roosters were the previous year's wooden-spooners and only after playing and winning for five consecutive weeks were able to reach the 2010 decider. In the grand final, St. George Illawarra trailed by two points at halftime, but broke the shackles in the second half, keeping the Roosters scoreless while adding 26 points to their score. Melbourne Storm
The Melbourne Storm are a rugby league club based in Melbourne, Victoria in Australia that participates in the National Rugby League. The first fully professional rugby league team based in the state, the Storm entered the competition in 1998. The Storm were originally a Super League initiative, created in 1997 during the Super League war, however, following the Super League collapse, the team became a part of the newly formed, united competition. The club play their home games at AAMI Park. The Storm have won four premierships since their inception, in 1999, 2012, 2017 and 2020, and have contested several more grand finals, but were stripped of the 2007 and 2009 premierships following salary cap breaches. 2010 NRL Season
The 2010 NRL season was the 103rd season of professional rugby league football club competition in Australia, and the thirteenth run by the National Rugby League. The season commenced on 12 March and ended with the Grand Final, played on 3 October at ANZ Stadium. National Rugby League teams, Sixteen teams competed for the 2010 Telstra Premiership whilst the third season of the 2010 NRL Under-20s season, National Youth Competition was also in progress. The 2010 season was marred by the Melbourne Storm's admission in April of systematically breaching the NRL salary cap.
