Kanchi Wichmann (born 1974) is a British filmmaker, best known for the lesbian feature ''Break My Fall (film), Break My Fall'' (2011) which was listed as one of ten great lesbian films to watch by the British Film Institute. Life and career Wichmann was born in North Devon, to an English (Yorkshire) mother and a German father. She moved around in her childhood, settling in London at the age of 17. Her training including an HND in film and video at Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University College, Surrey Institute of Art and Design and TV & Video production, City & Guilds at College of North East London, Tottenham. At 18, Wichmann began making films using video and Super 8 film, Super 8. She made her first 16mm narrative short film at the age of twenty one (Travelling Light). Cary Cronenwett is an American transgender writer, director, and producer born in Oklahoma. He is most well known for directing ''Maggots and Men'' (2009), ''Peace of Mind (2015),'' and ''Valencia (2013).'' Cronenwett's films vary from documentaries to short films. In addition to working behind the camera, Cronenwett has also starred in a video entitled ''Sexperimental 90s'' (2000). Cronenwett has been cited as one of the leading directors within the LGBTQ community focusing upon trans sexuality. Early life and education Cary Cronenwett was born in Oklahoma but moved to San Francisco, California, where he lived for most of his adult life. Ulrike Ottinger (born 6 June 1942) is a German filmmaker and photographer. Early life From 1959 she was a visiting student at the Academy of Arts in Munich and worked as a painter. Her mother, Maria Weinberg, was a journalist and her father, Ulrich Ottinger, was a painter. From 1962 to 1968, Ottinger worked as a freelance artist in Paris and studied etching with Johnny Friedlaender among other studies. They participated in several exhibitions. Film career The films of Ottinger have been said to "reject or parody the conventions of art cinema and search for new ways to construct visual pleasure, creating various spectator positions usually neglected or marginalized by cinematic address". Hackney Central is a sub-district of Hackney in the London Borough of Hackney in London, England and is four miles (6.4 km) northeast of Charing Cross. The Hackney Central area is focused on Mare Street and the retail areas to the north of it including Narrow Way and surrounding local area around Hackney Downs railway station.
