Kanako Murata
Kanako Murata (村田 夏南子, born August 10, 1993) is a Japanese female mixed martial artist who competes in the Strawweight (MMA), Strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional mixed martial artist since 2016, Murata has also competed in Rizin Fighting Federation and Invicta FC where she is a former Invicta_Fighting_Championships#Strawweight_Championship, Invicta FC Strawweight Champion. Background Murata was born and raised in Matsuyama, Japan. The granddaughter of a judo dojo master, Murata started training judo at the age of three. She was a national champion in judo in her high school years. After judo, she transitioned to freestyle wrestling in which she won Junior World Championship in 2011. Invicta Fighting Championships, also known as Invicta FC, is an American professional mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion dedicated to Women's mixed martial arts that was founded in 2012 by Janet Martin and Shannon Knapp. The promotion is currently owned by the Canadian-based Anthem Sports & Entertainment. is a Japanese professional female mixed martial artist. Starting her MMA career in 2006, she has participated in the organizations Pancrase, Smackgirl, Valkyrie and the UFC. Nakai has been rated amongst Top 10 of Women's Flyweight and Bantamweight fighters between 2006 and 2018. Biography Nakai was born on October 22, 1986 in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture.
