Kanaka Simhasanam
''Kanaka Simhasanam'' () is a 2006 Indian Malayalam-language comedy film directed by Rajasenan. The film stars Jayaram, Karthika, and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy. Plot The movie tells the story of Kanakambaran, who runs a drama troupe along with his wife Bharati. The company is operating at a loss, but the couple struggle to keep it going as their creditors are breathing down their necks. One day, they strike gold when Udaya Varma and Ramakrishnan ask them to take part a real-life drama: they want Kanakambaran to play Suryanarayanan, the heir to the throne of the palace and childhood sweetheart of the princess Kanjanalakshmi. Kanakambaran takes up the challenge and also places his wife as the cook at the royal palace; in the meantime, a bad guy Narasimhan also has an eye for Kanjanalakshmi. Punnagavarali, a raga in Carnatic Music, is a derived scale from Hanumatodi, which is the 8th melakarta Raga in the 72 melakarta system. Punnagavarali raga is associated with karuna rasa and snakes (''naga'' means snake). Snake charmers play this scale. Kalasala Babu (1950 14 May 2018) was an Indian actor who performed on stage, and in television serials and films. On stage Babu had been acting in radio plays while at college. Following his graduation in 1973, Babu acted in ''Paanchajanyam'', yielding a good performance. Babu acted at Kalidasa Kala Kendram for two years, and was offered roles by the late O. Madhavan and K.
