Kanae Aoki
is a Japanese retired ice hockey player, currently serving as assistant coach to the Japanese women's national ice hockey team. Aoki represented Japan in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2014 Winter Olympics, the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2003 Asian Winter Games, the 2012 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia (CCOA), and at four IIHF Women's World Championships, in the Top Division in 2004 and 2015, and in Division I in 2012 and 2013. Her club career was played with Mitsuboshi Daito Peregrine (now DK Peregrine) of the All-Japan Women's Ice Hockey Championship and Women's Japan Ice Hockey League (WJIHL) and with the Calgary Inferno of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL). Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). The Clarkson Cup (french: La Coupe Clarkson) is a women's ice hockey trophy, which from 2009 to 2019 was awarded to the winner of the Canadian Women's Hockey Championship (CWHL champion). With the folding of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) in 2019, the Cup has not been awarded since. Like the Stanley Cup and Canada's Jeanne Sauvé Memorial Cup, it was named after a former Governor General of Canada, Adrienne Clarkson. Though initially awarded in 2006 to the Canadian national women's hockey team, it was intended to be awarded to the top women's club in Canada. is a Japanese ice hockey defender. International career Takeuchi was selected for the Japan women's national ice hockey team in the 2014 Winter Olympics. She played in all five games, recording one assist. Takeuchi also played for Japan in the qualifying event for the 2014 Winter Olympics. Takeuchi competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics. The 2016 Clarkson Cup was a women's ice hockey championship that was contested at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, the first contested on NHL ice, to determine the champion of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. Held on March 13, 2016, the Calgary Inferno defeated the Canadiennes de Montreal 8-3 to claim their first title. Les Canadiennes De Montréal
Les Canadiennes de Montréal were a professional women's ice hockey team based in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. Founded in 2007 as the Montreal Stars (Stars de Montréal), they competed in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) in every season. The team appeared in and won the Clarkson Cup the most times out of any CWHL teams with four championships. In 2015, the team became an affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League, with the franchise providing resources and marketing support to the team as part of their efforts to help promote women's hockey.
